Very beautiful book for young nature lovers.

A solid buy. Helpful short descriptions beside each picture. A more methodical and greater number of birds than others. However both the pictures and the stickers are little bitty so only someone with good eyes small hands and fiddly natures actually going to look at it color with them.

A beautiful book for any age and any stage of bird watching -- from beginning watchers to experienced!I purchased the book for a friend who loves birds. She has a significant visual impairment that does not allow her to see them in a tree or anywhere else, except very close and even then she cannot observe the subtle color variations. I purchased this coloring book because the birds depicted are presented in realistic form. I also love that it has the stickers depicting the birds in full. I'm hoping this, along with her ocular magnifying device, she will finally learn details of the flying friends she loves!

I recently started watching birds. Long ago, when I started looking out for butterflies, I got a Peterson coloring book. Each time I really SAW a butterfly to identify it, I 'allowed myself' to color it in. I still have that coloring book after 20 years, and occasionally I sight something I have not seen before. I plan to do the same with birds, and this coloring book is of even better detail and quality than my old butterfly coloring book. I am sure I will be enjoying it as long as I can get out in the field and look at birds! Next to the bird picture I note when and where I saw the bird.

I bought this for my 10 year old son, who recently became a Boy Scout. His first merit badge was Bird Study, and it sparked so much interest in my animal loving boy. A friend had an older version of this book, so I bought it after seeing hers. He LOVES it! I worried it’d be too young for him, but it teaches him to sketch and correctly color many bird species. You can’t go wrong with Peterson!

This book is so fun!! My 5, 7 and 9 year old all love it even though it looks somewhat detailed at first.

Bought this for my step-mother who is an avid bird-watcher but as hot as it has been this summer there haven't been as many birds to view. She said they must be flying after she goes to bed. Getting this guide has given her the ability to view and color some of her favorite birds even if she cannot view them in person. She was so happy to get something she could work on in a genre that she loves. It was definitely a win-win!

My daughter is doing an in-depth study on birds this school year. This field guide is an asset to our curriculum because it makes her want to find a new bird so that she can get coloring again! Nice, sturdy pages that can be colored using several different mediums. I enjoy having the stickers as well. We use them AFTER she has colored the bird from what she has photographed or is looking at at the time. It's great to compare her work to the sticker.

My grandson 6 yrs old, asked for a book to learn the different birds from for his birthday.This book is an excellent resource for kids and adults as well.We have 3 teachers in our family and they will all be shown the book.

I bought a couple of bird coloring book and this one is the less interesting of the bunch because the pictures or drawings are so small. They crammed 4 to 6 drawing per page making them very hard to color. It is a very good field guide but not so good coloring book.

My 7 and 5 year olds colour the birds as we read about them in the Burgess Bird Book and as we see them out in nature. I want to get a copy for myself!
