A CURT front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a winch, a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT winch mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks. All CURT front trailer hitches provide a useful receiver tube to accept a 2" x 2" shank, and they are commonly used on trucks, vans and SUVs. This front trailer hitch is rated for 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. It also has a straight-line pull rating of 9,000 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Nissan Frontier, Nissan Pathfinder and Suzuki Equator (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary hardware for a complete installation and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Get it together Curt.
Truck: 2016 SV 4x4 V6Me: Experienced mechanic, well equipped shop, semi-professional automotive mechanic at times, have installed a half dozen hitches- The front holes did not line up, but the rear most holes did. I struggled with it for a long while, thinking I could pry it into fitting before I finally took a die-grinder bit, chucked it up in my cordless drill, and widened the holes by maybe 1/8th of an inch. The hitch installed easily at that point.- If I had widened the holes before I started, this would have been a literal 10 minute job start to finish.- The bolts are plenty long and the washers are not overly thick. The people complaining about the bolt length must not own a floor-jack to lift/hold the hitch in place.- I found using the OE tow hook bolts on the front holes served me far better than the rear holes; it is harder to access the front holes. You will need a 10mm, 19mm, and 17mm socket, extensions, and probably a breaker bar or impact wrench to install this. You will also need at a minimum a round file or a die-grinder bit and a drill to widen the holes outward. You will only be grinding the thinnest side of the hole, and it will be very obvious where to grind as soon as you unbox the hitch. Having a floor jack or a helper will make the installation much easier. Also, it is worth noting that the bolt thread size used here is an unusual size; I think it is an M13 machine size thread, which is going to be hard to find a tap and die for if you mess up the threads in either the frame or on the bolts.Ground clearance/approach angle is greatly reduced. If you don't have a lift, this is probably not a great idea for someone that does off-roading if your goal is to have a hitch mounted winch.Good luck!

Built very solid
My main used for this receiver is to attach a personal snow plow on my truck. It's install was relatively easy but did take a bit of rotary file work on the bolt holes to achieve correct bolt alignment (I recommend hand threading the first several threads on each bolt to ensure they are not cross threaded. These bolts are a special fine thread and not easily obtained locally if damaged by accident). I suggest you have a 1/2 inch (~17mm) rotary file and hand drill handy before you begin the install just in case. It also came with the necessary hardware and clear instructions on how to mount. I can see where I might even be able to use this front hitch to accurately park my boat in the garage without backing it in.All in all, I think this hitch fit well enough and is an excellent and well designed heavy duty front mount that I'm sure will give me years of service.

It does not fit...not even close! (2019 Nissan Frontier)
When it arrived, I was excited because the construction is great but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how well constructed it is, it has to fit...and it does not, not even close, about 3/8” off. The photo was taken with the two screws on the passenger side in loosely with the hitch pushed over as a far as the passenger holes would allow. What a pain - I am trying to decide whether to go through the returns process or go buy a grinding bit and set to work. I am sure I will end up trying to make it fit.....but the holes should be a better fit than this.Edit. - I just installed a rear hitch from Curt and it fitted as promised, thank you! but the front hitch sneaked past the quality control procedures. Also, I reached out to Curt directly via a contact form on their website....crickets!Update: 7/22/20I returned the unit and received a replacement, but the replacement does not fit either. What a pain. Part of the problem is deformation in the holes as indicated by the yellow arrows, on all 4 holes. Bottom line I still do not have are a receiver that fits my truck. 30 minutes to install??? Really, if it installed at all I would be happy.

Best addition to my Nissan Frontier
Best addition to my Nissan Frontier. I'm now able to carry bicycles or my 300lb classic standup jetski on the FRONT of my truck. Couple notes:1. Mine required some filing as the bolt holes were 1/32" to close together left and right. The bolt holes wouldn't line up. A small grinding wheel is all it took. I also used a crowbar to help align the bolt holes. This alone may not make it a DIY job if you don't have some filing/grinding tools and ways to leverage the install.2. The kit comes with grade 8 bolts, washers , and lock washers. You'll probably not be able to use the regular washers due to fitment. Lock washers yes, regular washers no. Grade 8 is a big PLUS.3. Some cutting on the lower bumper skin was required. It's easily cut with a sharp utility razor blade. Stock, I had to cut the hole out of the lower skin on the driver side, and then the lower lip 2" had to be removed - the hitch will be there instead now4. Tongue weight. The description says 350lb, but the sticker says 300lb on the hitch itself. Still though it's class III so to me 300-350 is conservatively rated. My ski with hauler is ~400lb but no Pull weight and it's ok.5. Recommend lift lol for truck as receiver is 9 inches off the ground.

Read the reviews and get the right tools!
Unfortunately, my experience was consistent with a lot of the others, the holes didn't quite line up. It seems as though the steel ends are not far enough apart, or at least the holes. I read the reviews so I knew there might be a problem with fit. After fussing with it a bit, I also determined that the bolt holes in my frame seemed to point to the outside of my truck a bit, which obviously interferes with the sides of the hitch. The fix was buying a large, round file at Home Depot and widening the holes on one side of the hitch by probably a 1/4 inch. I also had to use smaller washers on the side I filed, as the hole was too close to the side. I had to file the holes of the washers too so the bolt would fit in.Overall, I spent about 2 hours on this project, but I'm not mechanically inclined, and didn't have all the tools I needed when I started. The hitch itself seems to be made very well, and looks great. I think it'll be perfect for my personal utility plow. Considering this is really the only option for a 2012 Nissan Frontier, it could have been worse.

Hope Quality Control has improved!
Luckily I bought this hitch for a really good price, I had to have it professionally installed due to it not aligning with the holes in the frame of my Frontier! The shop I took it to think it was removed too quickly from its jig after being welded!

The product appears well made though and instructions that came with it were good. The paint is thick enamelish stuff
Was shipped with huge shipping labels affixed to the outer sides of the vertical plates, was a pain to get them off. Slots for mounting on my truck (2008 CC LE fontier) were not wide enough, I have to mill them out 1/4" or so still before I can finish mounting it....the weld nuts in my frame are not perfectly 90 deg, so the skewed outward screws need some extra space. Screws are way shorter than they should be, a lot shorter than the stock ones that come with the tow hook even if you account for the tow hooks thicker body they are 4-5 more threads. The product appears well made though and instructions that came with it were good. The paint is thick enamelish stuff.

Mounting holes did not match the vehicle. I had to widen/open up the mounting holes on the hitch to fit vehicle. I could not use the flat washer as it would interfere with the side bracket either. Very disappointing... A 30 minute install became a 3 hour project.
