Great for someone who's learning
I am learning Japanese in college right now. We are mostly learning the formal/ lightly casual ways of speaking. This book has super casual phrasing, which I thought would be nice to look at in a way to get used to what it looks like. It's very nice that it has both hiragana, romaji, and the English translation. It's a really cute book for a young kid, but I also think it's a good idea to use it as a learner (considering your concept and skills on the language at the start is the same of the kids who reads these kinds of books) I really like it!

Wonderful Book
This book is adorable in every way. The art is gorgeous and imaginative, and oh, so colorful. The story, too, is wonderfully written. For those of us who are very early into learning Japanese, the romanji was a wonderful addition, though when trying to read with the Japanese characters alone, it can be a little distracting. I must read this book several times a day to my daughters, and I love it so much I tend to read it on my own for Japanese practice. Anyone interested in learning Japanese, or reading in Japanese, or bilingual books in general should check out this book.

So beautiful! Great story and learning tool
Artwork is amazing! Such lovely pictures and a charming, heartwarming story. My 18-year-old daughter got this for her niece (my granddaughter) and reads it to her regularly. My six-year-old granddaughter loves this book! The pictures are incredible, she loves to look at the friendly feast monsters. And she is actually learning to say the words in Japanese! Wonderful to watch them together!

Cute and Useful for Beginners
Not only does this book have an adorable style and good message; this book is perfect for absolute beginners. There is no kanji, minimal katakana, almost all hiragana, and there’s the romaji spelling coupled with the English translation. This book can be taught to kids of either direction, beginners of English or Japanese.I recommend this kid’s book for people looking to get started with language learning.

Cute book, but...
Book is very cute, however the romanji should not be used as a pronunciation guide if you are starting to learn Japanese; the romanji is a direct translation of the hiragana. I would have given this a 5-star if the romanji wasn't there.

Adorable book
I appreciate the simple clarity of the book. I'm able to follow along with the Japanese well enough. It only has a few pieces of kanji so I'm able to read most of the book. I'll just have to be brave and look up the kanji. Ha.The quality of the book is very nice and well printed with good color saturation. The artwork is fun, and the story is very sweet. It has a positive message at the end and I'll enjoy using this book to teach myself and my son Japanese.

ótimo para crianças ou quem está aprendendo japonês
Ótimo livro para crianças ou para quem está aprendendo japones (bem do básico mesmo). Tem letras em hiragana apenas e com tradução em romaji e inglês. No kindle, precisa ler no modo paisagem.

Muy bonito
Las Ilustraciones son muy bonitas, el japonés viene en kanas y romaji lo que hace más fácil la lectura. El tamaño me parece bueno. Yo sé lo compré a mi bebé y se lo leo, pero no creo poder dárselo hasta que tenga por lo menos unos 4 años para que no lo vaya a romper.
