I called the Toto Customer Service Number to ask for help getting an original Toto part for our toilet. The old model flapper that we had in our toilet had been discontinued and this new version requires you to know what toilet model you have.We didn't build our home - the toilets were chosen by the condo developer and the model numbers were obscured. Fortunately, Toto customer service was also helpful at getting me the correct settings for the blue toto flapper (Arrow 8 and chain 8 or 9).The flapper was easy to install and works very well. No problems so far!

I believe that it is a genuine part and works perfectly on my toilet. Install simply by stretching the ears onto the tabs in the toilet's mechanism

After 17 years our original Toto flapper started leaking. I first replaced it with the Korky universal Toto replacement that looks exactly like this one. It leaked. I then got this one and it works perfectly.Toto replaced their 499 model with this 500 model because of leaks in some toilets. So the Korky might be a 499, or I was just unlucky. Regardless, this one did the trick.

Ordered product with standard shipping and received it within two days; exceeded expectations given the toilet was leaking. Was impressed with the installation instructions which specified the flapper settings by toilet model and how to set the chain links. The attention to detail and engineering is apparent. Can tell a difference in the product and the flushing action. Would recommend its purchase compared to generic flappers that require frequent replacement and use more water per flush.

Two reasons for the three stars:1. What is shown in the image above and what arrived are two different things. The item that showed up, while the same part number, it had black handles and few other changes. Not happy with it.2. Not happy with it, because the price that I paid is higher, thinking that I am going to get exactly the same item as described in the image.I did not return the product, simply because, my tank was leaking constantly and I needed to fix it right away. Replacement from elsewhere would take me another few days.Product works fine, and hence it gets the three stars, but more expensive than I want it to be.

My toilet model is 7421 from 2005 and I simultaneously replaced the flapper and the flush handle/arm. Once I fiddled around a bit with the adjustable ring on the flapper as well as the armhole and chain length, I wound up with a perfect configuration. The toilet flushes completely with a very light press on the handle, which is way different from the way it was barely working since my last diy repair. The package recommends settings for all for all three adjustments. My specific model was not listed, but I maybe spent 5 minutes of trial and error positioning to get it right. So even though I was suspicious of the "one size fits all" adjustable flapper, I'm very pleased with the way this worked out.

EDIT #2: This is a much better Toto product: THU451.10A-A. It replaces the center pillar that holds the fill tube and to which the flapper is attached and comes with a more sophisticated mechanism to replace the flapper.EDIT: The seal lasted for six months only. Now the tank water is slowly leaking and the fill valve comes on every few minutes. Short of making sure the flapper is properly seated and centered on the prongs, there's not much else you can do. I suppose that by selling them as a two-pack, Toto is letting the customer know that the second one will soon be needed. The original that came with the new toilet lasted more than five years!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Superior performance to the unbranded knockoffs of the earlier Toto blue flapper, which slowly leaked water causing the tank to refill every few minutes. This Toto-branded flapper works as it should. But I'm going to deduct a few stars because they force the customer to buy two of them. I won't need the second one for another 5 years. Will the elastomer still be intact yet pliable after that length of time? I doubt it.
