Connecting a none wirless printer
Works really well, I needed to connect a none wireless printer to my WIFI to make it wireless, works really well. As other have mentioned the setting-up instructions are really bad, these really do need sorting. In essence plug it into you PC/laptop, go to your WIFI and look for it, I made the mistake trying to find it as a drive, no its a WIFI connection. When connected, go to the web address stated in the instructions, the default password is 12345678 easy to miss in the instructions as it highlights another password. Once in, select the settings and you will see a place to add your WIFI name and password. Once done simple press the reset button and wait for the light to flash very quickly, a couple of mins. It doesn't say it finished but once you see the light flashing really quick it is. Simply unplug and pop it into your printer, with a power source. Should work. Hope this helps. Dom

Great for youview box application
Brilliant little dongle! Bought this when we moved the BT youview box up into the bedroom, as you may know the youbox a wired internet connection and though i would give this a try. Powered by the USB socket on the back of the box and it works a treat. Really simple to setup even for a novice with networking experience, instructions aren't the best but can make out what to do, even a simple youtube search will give a clear video on how to do it.I have tested this for amazon prime streaming and so far it hasn't missed a beat. My router is sat in the living room and we have a solid brick built house so would expect some buffering but so far nothing! Have had this setup for a little over a month. Would recommend if you are looking to get over any hardwired issues and have limited plug sockets at your disposal!

Great device - recommended but the instructions are not so good.
Not often I have the pleasure of writing a good 4 star review. This VAP11G-300 device does work well. Only one star lost on "Easy to install" as the Chinglish instructions whilst up there with the best could be a lot better and will be confusing to non technical peeps. I have used the device to provide a "wired" network connection to an aging Humax HDR-FOX-T2. Not only did it work after some experiments the throughput across my wireless (N 300 - straight line distance 23m thru 2 block walls & a floor) provides crystal clear HD (1080p) streaming using the Humax as a media server (decrypted) to any device. For my money this device is highly recommended although the more expensive VAP11ac might be a better investment long term (when the price drops a bit). Hint: to make setup a little easier if your wireless SSID is hidden, unhide it during setup.

Solved an ethernet power plug problem easily
As wi-fi and Bt Home hubs have improved over the years I've switched from several ethernet connected devices to just one left - a Nibe heat pump. I think the power plugs were on the way out with constant dropping of connections. This Vonet device was half the price of replacing them. Once configured and set up it was just plug in and play.A couple of points to watch out for (down to my ignorance). If setting up the Vonet device to work off another device, disconnect your wi-fi otherwise you won't be able to display the configuration webpage. I was confused by my router local ip addressing. The ethernet device keeps its ip address and the router gives another ip address to the Vonet.I had to buy a usb plug-in converter as the usb socket in the NIBE control unit wasn't powerful enough - its only used for downloading software. The manual is really straightforward and on YT there are quite a few instructions for installing this device. Finally, my router is reporting the Vonet connection at 5ghz, which is a bonus.

Garden WiFi is go
I am using this, along with some cable extenders/couplers to extend the WiFi into the garden. I'm using an RJ45 input that's coming from a powerline adaptor, and pretty much just had to plug it in then work out the correct website link to configure it a little and to change the SSID and password. I had to go to a Vonets page rather than an IP address link, and ensure my laptop was on the same network as the bridge, which was a little confusing but nothing too taxing. I gave the SSID its own name so it's a secondary network, so other devices don't get confused and it works nicely sending the WiFi signal out at least 8m into the garden. I'm now able to use my smartphone in the garden, and have been able to have an Echo Dot out in the garden to use Alexa (using a battery pack too and making sure the Dot was on the new network). Really happy with how this has worked out and how easy it was.
