Great performance
Having bought two of these heating mats last year, i now appreciate the benefits to germination these heaters deliver. Once your seeds are planted and placed on these mats, its only a matter of a few days before they’re rearing their heads above the soil, and with trickier seeds, the success rate is phenomenal. Before we owned these, we would try to bring our seeds on in a greenhouse with only minimal success, but these mats have made a huge change to our planting success rate, and as a result i’ve ordered two more complete with the grow lighting system. So it will be interesting to see what further improvements can be achieved with the additional lighting. Overall i’ve been hugely impressed with the heating mats, and use them full time to grow all my crops. A five star purchase ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍

Pretty good at heating up a propogator
I watched a Youtube video in which a professional gardener said that a heat pad can speed up seed germination. I chose this as it was reasonably priced, easy to use, had a soil sensor and a digital temeperator control, and low power consumption.I planted aubergines, cucumbers, courgettes [zuccini], tomatoes, bell peppers and chillies in seed pots sitting inside an unheated propogator. The propogator sits in a plastic tray which sits on the heat mat. The heat mat I have plugged in for about 15 hours a day. All my seedlings have germinated so its a success - cant complain.

excellent for a bread proofing box
Works perfectly for my requirements.I bought this to proof bread dough in a cold environment.I placed the mat, and the sensor (on a variable coat hanger tripod) below an upturned clear plastic storage box, and insulated the outside with a foil coated windscreen protector from the pound shop. The upside down box retains most of the heat whilst being carefully lifted to add or remove dough...saving on heat up time.I used the upturned lid with more windscreen protector, as a reflective base for the taped down mat, and a piece of thin wire shelving to make it 2 tier. I also added a large flapped peephole to keep an eye on things.I now have a fully adjustable, 100 liter, double-decker proofing box for less than £50 all in.Slow proofing on top deck, faster proofing on bottom.when I'm finished, my entire baking kit including ingredients and a stand mixer fit easily into the box for safe storage. This heating mat might be a helping hand for gardening...for bread-making it's truly a game changer.

Not variable temperature.
Thought I was buying the same as last time with in built thermostat and control.

Warm bottom
It works very well shame it doesn't have a thermostat control but good for the moneyIt got my seed tray bottoms warm enough to get things going.

Worked perfectly!
I have had a polytunnel for the last few years and I have always bought the tomato, cucumber, courgette etc. as plugs. This year I decided to grow my own from seed as I would have a much wider selection of types to choose from that better suits my conditions in Scotland.I bought this heatmat to give the seeds a head start and the results were great. The seed packets advised starting the germination off at 20-25C and there is no way I could achieve that, even in the house for a prolonged period.By using the heatmat the first seedlings appeared on day 5 and all were through by day 7. I have now got them transplanted into larger pots and cooling off a bit for eventually going into the polytunnel. The mat seems well made, was splash proof for the odd watering mishap and ready to go out of the box. It comes curled up in the box, so I just put a couple of heavy books (switched off!) on it overnight and it was nice and flat for the seed trays. There's plenty room for a couple of trays.Ideal product and now about to start round two of germination!
