Smart Dimming & Perfect Homekit
My house was previously setup with Z-Wave switches and outlets because my alarm system controller supports Z-Wave. So alarm sensors/armed modes/alarms could trigger certain things. I started off with a few HomeKit bulbs and was so impressed with how fast they worked even when I was not on local Wi-Fi. So I decided to switch my first actual dimmer switch with a HomeKit switch and chose this one. Installation was straightforward except it would be better if leads were not provided in side terminals were instead. It was hard to fit everything in the box.Pros:- Supports HomeKit without any bridge, 3rd Party Software. Once hooked up, enter switch number in iOS native HomeKit Home app and it programs the switch with the 2.4Ghz Wifi network that your phone is currently connected to. 5 GHz networks not supported, which makes sense. 2.4Ghz is lower bandwidth but high signal strength. After enrolling in home care and assigning it a room I could immediately activate it through my HomePods, Siri or any of my other Apple devices. Hey Siri set Living Room light to 25% - BOOM done within a second even over cellular (if you have a HomePod Mini or Apple TV 4K).- The switch is hooked to a lamp that can physically toggle from 2:5 Lights On, 5:5 Lights on, or OfF. When dimmed to 25% with 2:5 lights on and I toggle to 5:5 lights on the switch modifies voltage or current to run those bulbs at same brightness. This is especially impressive when going from five lights on to two lights on. With the old switch those two lights would essentially be on high even though the dimmer was that low.- I didn’t even download the Maross app to play with advanced settings yet. If you have an iPhone you first set it up over HomeKit then The devices on your Wi-Fi so the Maross app can edit it. Looking forward to checking that out but I understand you can further adjust the four presets while using the button to dim.- through the Home app you can adjust them from 0% through 100% pretty accurately. I would say anything below 15% is off and anything over 75% is full power. Still a lot of options fine adjusting in the effective area. I believe this can be better tuned through the Maross app. I’ll try that next and add it if necessary.- this item is not UL certified but is ETL certified. Regardless of what you read, they’re the same. Underwriters laboratories in the company that runs the ETL certification follow the same guidelines. they are both approved by the NEC. It’s my understanding that it’s faster to go through ETL when you need to get tech on the market quickly. I’d prefer UL but ETL sounds just as good and is approved anywhere a UL item is.Cons- The leads on the back suck. I had to trim the lead significantly and even trim a few conductors in my box which is never a good thing.- I have no idea how long this will last. I will definitely add it if one fails. I’ll also add it if I have intermittent failures. That’s so far so good.

Great budget switch option for HomeKit
I started with a pack of two to test their reliability and so far have worked great. They have a 'night light' mode which has the little circle glow yellow which is a really lovely touch. Installation was straightforward and appreciated the step-by-step graphics included. Each one took me (someone with no experience) about 15 minutes to install. The guide to set minimum and maximum brightness is also really nifty as we use a mix of fluorescent and LED lights in the house. My only complaint is they do not have 'HomeKit Security' approved connections like bigger name brands (example is WeMo has automatic approved connections to time servers, update servers, etc. but will restrict any other communication) so I do have to restrict their communication to only the local network so updates and setting changes don't work. However, I just 'unrestrict' them to change settings and put it back.Overall very happy with them for the price and will be replacing more standard switches with them.

Mostly what I had hoped for...
I had these professionally installed because I do not consider myself to be a "handyman"... They work very well, most of the time. Its the "most of the time" that can be a problem. I have a very robust home network with the newest eero routers and access points, and I can easily see my network from almost a block away from home. This is why it is a mystery to me why, at times, when I launch the Homekit app, occasionally, the switches will be listed as "No Response". In these instances, I have had to go to the physical switch and push what I would call the "restart" button. This will normally resolve the issue. I think this button is like a reboot of the switch, and not a hard reset. There was also an issue in updating the switches that led me to have to completely delete them from Homekit and the Meross applications, then reinstall them one at a time to do the updates. The new update seems to maintain connectivity better, but it has only been 4 days. All in all, they seem to be very well made, and Meross support has been fantastic and responsive, even though their replies seem to come in overnight. If the updates didn't require totaling resetting the devices, and reconfiguring them, these would be an easy 5 stars from me.

Great Meross digital switch
I have installed several of these switches in my house. They work well, are easy to customize, and are affordable. I am using the Apple Home Home app to control most of my lights. I switched to the Home system about five years ago and prefer the simple interface over the legacy systems. I can highly recommend these products.

The biggest headache for a subpar dimmer switch. Constantly disconnects
I equipped my home with many types of these smart switches from Meross. This includes non dimmer and dimmer types and 1/2 pole versions. For whatever reason, these ones are the model that constantly stop working and constantly reset from Wi-Fi. Dimmer single pole model.I have everything hooked into home assistant and the issues with this models firmware (I assume) cause constant resets making me need to re add to home assistant (or using iPhone in home app). Must setup as new device, rip panel off from wall to get code. Constant headache. Wi-Fi signal is perfect where they are. All other models do not do this (for most part). I am removing these and trashing them. Not worth my time.Save yourself some time and either get different models from Meross, or better yet just go with zwave/zigby style devices instead. All these Wi-Fi based switches are too susceptibility to poor firmware design causing users all types of issues.Good luck

Debunking “Meross Server” HomeKit Connectivity Claims
For those who are claiming “frequent drops” to Meross’s server- this is unlikely to be the root to your problem. There’s a difference between using HomeKit, and using HomeKit accessories with a HomeKit Secure Router (HSR) that enables accessory security. This allows you to up security by having the router assign different credentials for each device, and allowing you to completely isolate the devices and allow them to ONLY communicate with your home hubs (Apple Tv, Homepod, iPad). iPad is generally not recommended unless you’ve got it plugged in and never turned off. If you’ve got problems with dropping accessories know that this is fairly common place with HomeKit, but if you do have a HomeKit Router (Eero, some Linksys) models, I would absolutely recommend that you choose “Restricted” mode and only allow communication with your hub. This makes things more secure and also remedies any connection issues you may have. I’m assuming at some point Meross will upload a manufactures list of approved connections so that HomeKit users can select automatic mode. The benefit here is that you wouldn’t have to disable restricted mode in order to update firmware as you the Meross server won’t be able to connect to the devices in order to update them unless you disable restricted mode long enough to update them and then place them back in restricted mode. Until then, I just periodically check. I’ve had zero drop issues with any of the Meross products since using HSR on restricted mode. Also claims about having a “superior” network on the basis of speed alone is not a great argument. There are tons of considerations for networks and the signal that you’re devices are receiving. You can have fibre 2GB internet (my current network), but there can still be problems with signal for devices especially on networks with a single access point. Lastly, speed is not a huge factor as as the majority it not all of devices run on the 2.4GHZ network, not 5. That being said, the Eero Pro routers and mesh networks since upgrading from the ISP router have been flawless. The only time I have a drop is when enabling a guest network, even after that the devices will then come online themselves. My only complaint with Meross in general is that the devices cannot handle when the network security is upgraded to WPA3 transitional. Other Vocolinc HomeKit devices I have, while not using WPA3, will still stay online and just use WPA2 while the rest of devices supporting WPA3 (Mainly Apple Devices) will work fine. In addition to all this, HomeKit in general is dynamic and there are updates pushed when you update the software on your Home Hubs as these are the devices that are operating your HomeKit accessories. We have a couple Apple TV’s and multiple HomePods on standby mode as hubs and there have never been any issues.

Great and Affordable HomeKit switches
I started with a Meross smart plug, then an outdoor plug and now about 20 switches. They have all worked really well. Very easy setup, and they stay connected really well.I have the regular switch, dimmer and 3-way dimmers. All are great after a few weeks.

Great bang for the buck
The 2 pack of switches come in less expensive than most other brands for a single switch. I had only found a few other brands that will support HomeKit as well as Google & Alexa, but were much much more expensive. These are a great value. The construction of the switches is good, mostly plastic but seems durable. Be aware that smart switches are deeper than regular switches. So they will occupy more space in the box, which may make it difficult to fit. There is occasionally a delay when pressing the physical switch to turn on if they haven't been on in awhile. You can hear a slight auditable click from the relay inside of the switch. The delay is more apparent if the lights were previously dimmed. The switches do occasionally drop connection and will report as being unresponsive in HomeKit. Usually sending a command either via HomeKit or the Meross app seems to wake them up after a delay. A few times I've had to push the small button to restart the switch. The Meross app isn't required to set them up in HomeKit, which is nice. However it's a good idea to have the app as it is require for firmware updates.
