Seamless USB Expansion for Desktop Setups!
This PCI-E expansion card has been a fantastic addition to my desktop. Installation was straightforward, and it was recognized immediately by my system without the need for additional drivers. The combination of 2 USB-C and 5 USB-A ports offers versatile connectivity options, accommodating a range of devices from external drives to peripherals. Data transfer speeds are consistent and fast, matching the performance of my motherboard's native USB 3.0 ports. Overall, it's a reliable and efficient solution for expanding USB capabilities.

Definitely worth it/Power Limits for certain USB 3.0 and USB C Devices
There were no reviews when I first looked at this product so I was very skeptical about purchasing but for the first price of $18 along with an additional 10% off I had grab it for all it's offering. It raised in price after the first batch sold which is the norm with supply and demand so I'm happy I was an early adapter. Definitely a lot better than the Internal USB 3.0 HUB that I finally had to throw out after 6 years. This one is a lot sleeker, has a minimalistic aesthetic to it along with providing you with addition USB room. However, certain USB devices will not get enough power to run properly using this hub. For example, my Xbox Wireless Adapter will get power for ten minutes before automatically turning off, I just switched a random jump drive in my PC for it. External Drives work pretty well and don't give me that problem so it may be a software conflict between the hub and my wireless adapter. But overall a nice alternative to a MOBO with a few USB Ports or for people like me that like to have more than needed. Also for those wanting to use this hub for USB C displays, this will not work at all as it doesn't provide enough power just giving a heads-up. The additional USB C port are a godsend since cases with USB C ports are more expensive and some motherboards like mine only have 1 USB C Ports that I used for an external drive before getting this hub. Definitely a cheap and effective way to add USB C ports to your PC without the premium price point and the speeds are equal to what you'll get on your motherboard. Also, it doesn't require a SATA Cable to get up and running which is what a lot of USB Hubs need to get powered on.

Works great if your case has the space!
I was glad I read the reviews regarding checking the space available prior to installation. Mine arrived quickly, installed with ease and works fine for my needs. Check your PC case first to be sure that this card will give you the clearance it requires. The vertically oriented ports probably won’t work for most smaller office-type PCs.There are plenty of reviews with pictures here that illustrate this caveat.

Pretty good performance, all drives sometimes go offline
Had a problem fitting card in slot, made it work by cutting away bracket on PC. I'm only using the USB 3 ports. When copying many files to a drive, in mid-copy ALL of the drives (even those not involved) will go offline and then come back within about a minute. The copy has failed, of course. Sometimes the drives will disconnect randomly overnight, but are re-connected when I check in the morning.Have tried manufacturer's driver and Microsoft's, which I'm currently using. I also have the power-saving option turned off in the Properties of each port, and this did seem to help, as the random dis- and re-connects seem fewer. When they work, I'm satisfied. When the don't it's very frustrating.

This device could present a very unique problem - Be Aware
It's 7/23/2025 and I just replaced this device. It worked well after being installed but it also caused a very strange phenomenon. My HP desktop would not shut down after it was turned off, it would just instantly reboot as soon as the shutdown was ALMOST complete. As a consequence, I had to shut down the surge protector that the PC was plugged into in order to turn it off, and turn the surge protector back on to boot up in the morning. That wasn't really so bad until the other day when I discovered a boat load of Critical Errors in the Event Viewer log that indicated the computer was not shutting down properly. Clearly some very basic incompatibility existed between this device and the mother board in the desktop. So, I replaced this unit with a ELUTENG USB 3.2 PCI Express Expansion Card with 6 Type A ports and 2 Type C ports. Now my desktop shuts down normally and turns on when I press the HP “power on” button on the front cover of the tower. Wow, what a concept.

A great accessory for PC hardware maniacs like me
If your motherboard is a couple of years old it may not have a wide enough array of USB-C and USB 3.x connectors available. My motherboard has a paucity of USB 3 compatible connectors. This board is just what you need if you're running out of high speed USB ports. Linux Mint 20.x picked the card up immediately and easily. The only caveat is that the ports are perpendicular to the card slot openings on the back of the case. Therefore the USB plugs need to be finessed into the jacks because they just barely can be inserted through the card slot. You will have to wiggle things to get the USB plugs to go in. The USB-C ports have no such issues. Overall, a tad pricey compared to many budget USB expander cards but you're definitely getting your money's worth in added function.
