Definitely metal and plastic
For those asking if they are only plastic, I can say for sure that the top portion of the planes is indeed metal. My son needed the tail of a plane for a diorama he is making for school, so I sawed the tail off. Definitely metal. He’s thrilled to have all the other planes to display as they are kinda cool.

They have not broke after a year.
There are some plastic components on the airplanes, but these airplanes have lasted a year for my son. He is still playing with them. I would recommend them. We haven't had any break ands my son is very rough on them.

Realistic toy airplanes
Toy realistic airplanes are such a challenge to find. These were a huge joy for my toddler nephew who only likes the “real ones”. The quality is thin and I’m pretty sure the won’t survive being dropped too many times but his joy at Christmas as he pulled each one out of a gift bag was priceless!

Good toy
Good toys for the price. I felt a little mislead because the planes are not totally die cast metal, just the top of the main body, but the rest is a decent quality plastic and I haven't had any of them break for my 3 year old.

Fun, but Cheap
We bought these as potty prizes for our 3 yr old. She loves them, although they are poorly made. Don't let the title fool you. The only part that is die cast is the body of the plane. The wings and small piece that the wheels attach to are plastic and flimsy. I gave it 3 stars because she does love them.

Great for a toddler
This toy met expectations which was for a quantity of small airplanes for our son to play with. The one that was the big hit was the green propeller plane which is a bit bigger than the others. The jet planes all have a sameness about them and more prop planes and a bi-plane for diversity would be better but OK for the money.

These were perfect for my great-grandson, who adores planes of all kinds. His mother said he plays with them ALL the time!
