a well intentioned book with lots of potential but eventually not very useful
the biggest problem i have with this book is that it is not practical. twice in my life i have been in a stage wherein i needed to interview extensively i.e., hundreds of technical ml/dl interviews (many research based as well) but i have never seen the types of questions this book contains. quite simply no one asks these sorts of questions in interviews in my experience. i was honestly excited about this book and how it was marketed as the panacea for ml/dl technical interviews but was disappointed. sure the book contains many novel application based questions from physics/medicine/diseases which you have not seen earlier but is that what the point of learning should be. i thought this book had lots of potential to incorporate questions about the latest ml/dl architectures/frameworks and why they work so well but the book did not explore this. so that it where it stands - a well intentioned book with lots of potential but eventually not very useful.

Great learning experience
Very clear solutions and explanations. You can learn something new from every exercise in this book, some of them really hard. Great book to practice with and learn Deep Learning.

Terrible printing
Such a terrible printing quality, most left pages have one blank slice like in the picture. Content lost.

Blurb Hardcover version - fantastic!!!!!!
As a Masters in Biotechnology, who has taken a path to graduate Ph.D in Mathematics and Computer Sciences, developing algorithms and new approaches for ML and also being a mother of two toddlers who are not leaving enough time to rehears old courses, I started looking for a solution to refresh and focus my knowledge and help me reach a great level of confidence in myself. While it may be easy to find machine learning questions on the internet, it’s quite difficult to find full solutions for the problems presented and for me this was a crucial factor. The core subjects of the book are a bit different from other books that I have seen - for instance not many books include such a detailed chapter on Information theory. However, the more I read about the field, I understood how important these basic subjects are. The book itself is beautiful (Note that I have the Blurb Hardcover color version). The chapter I started with is the one on Logistic regression, the section on “truly understanding LR” was highly illuminating and I actually learned several new valuable practices while solving the questions. The solutions are very detailed, including formulas and illustrations, though there are places where the answer is true or false but these are the easy cases. Some of the questions are very difficult and I had to repeat solving them until I fully understood their value. Additionally, the author gives some very important tips on how to approach an AI or Deep learning interview that could be a decisive factor in said interviews and I love the way the book gives examples and implementations of the ideas, presented in fields like radiology and oncology. Even after taking numerous courses in deep learning, I still had total lack of self confidence and already after taking on a few questions in the book, I elevated the level of my confidence and I still have long way to go on this topic. In conclusion of the review, I Highly recommended this book for everyone how does not feel to have a solid ground and needs a guide to come on track from both knowledge and self confidence.

I do not recommend it at all. Cruel, boring, without color, black and white, very simple and cheap
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed... the book itself arrived as if it was used, it arrived torn... As for itself, it looks very cheap to me, there are no colors and everything is black and white at a very simple and cheap level, I don't enjoy reading it.I think I should point out that I usually like to order books from Amazon, they always arrive at a very good and high quality level, but this particular one was a disappointment to me :/

The style makes the book unreadable
The book is not well formatted. Reading it is definitely a challenge

Not colored. Disappointed.
I spent $50 on this book. Content seems great but the copy I got was black and white. Others seem to have got the colored copy. This is just a steal. Get the e-book instead and study the soft copy. Disappointed.

it is deep !
This is my initial report from spending one full day with a single chapter of the softcover version of the book. In my daily job, I am a manager who decided to enter the field and understand better the scientists I am hiring and thos who are working for me. I actually wanted to start with the Mock exam which strangely enough appears at the end of the book and not at the start, but maybe the intention was to do the mock exam after a reader finished the book?! Eventually, I jumped to the chapter on Bayesian Machine learning. Yes, as the author describes, some of the questions are VERY difficult (at least for me), BUT the fact that he carefully clarifies with the solutions-manual and illustrations extensively helped my understanding. I think, the author also managed to cover a wide variety of topics while still connecting them to one another and giving interesting real-life examples and implementations in PyTorch and CPP. The fact that the index is very extensive and easy to use is just the cherry on the top!I promise to update my review again when I finish the chapter.

I received a black and white book instead of color
The preview shows color and it's not a cheap book. How are the graphs going to make sense without the color. Also, the printing is light.
