Great purchase for the kitchen!
I purchased this for my husband almost 2 years ago and he still loves it!I got 2 different sizes for the wall space on each side of our stove. This also helped get all the knives out of reach once our daughter started walking and reaching into kitchen drawers. The install was pretty easy! The magnet strength is very strong! It holds all the knives in place perfectly. None have ever slipped or fallen off.I left the plastic on the magnet strip so we can remove it from the wall easy when we need to.Overall it has been a great purchase! Looks great and has been very helpful for my husband to access most of the blades we have when needed for food prep.He has more blades and utensils he uses often, so may need to get one or two more strips.

Very strong magnet and perfect for my stainless-steel cooking preparation cart.
This is the perfect addition to my stainless-steel cooking preparation cart. It matches perfectly and looks like it was part of the cart. The magnet on this knife bar is so strong that it would be difficult to remove it from my cart after it is in place. Any metal utensil that I place on the bar stays exactly where I put it. The size is perfect as it is large enough to place all the utensils I could need right where I can get them. This did come with a rear plate for installation onto a wooden surface. But since I was using a stainless-steel surface, all I had to do was put it in place. There was a slight ding near one corner when it arrived, but this was easily tapped back into place so you would never know there was an issue. Overall, this is the perfect addition to my cooking station and well worth the higher cost compared to the cheap plastic ones that have a magnet glued into them.

Great product and price
Build quality:This item is very well designed, high quality, and easy to install. It comes with a back plate with two mounting holes where you can attach to any surface. Once the back plate is mounted, the main body of the unit simply attaches by strong magnetic force to the mounting place - no additional screws needed.I used 1/4" thick spacers to space the mounting plate away from the mounting surface in order to avoid having any thick handles of any knife interfere with having the knife blade lay flat on the magnetic surface.

Optimal magnetic strength
Magnet on the inside isn't neodymium but it is strong enough to hold any knife securely. Too weak the knife falls off. Too strong it is dangerous to use pulling. This strikes a good balance.Installation was simple with two hole drills. For those that can't drill use nano tape or 3M command. I've used those for apartment rentals and holds up well.

Beautiful, Strong, Sturdy
I recently bought some expensive Damascus Steel knives and have been looking for a way to show them off and this is it.The bad first. The mounting hardware provided was garbage. The drywall anchors just folded as I gently tapped them in. Luckily I have a number of drywall anchors on hand and they're cheap enough at Home Depot/Mendards/whatever hardware store you use. With suitable hardware installation is incredibly simple - just 2 anchors and screws into the drywall with a screw driver and you're done. I would recommend using a level. It's interesting to see reviews both that the magnet is too strong and also not strong enough, but I can somehow see it both ways? It's plenty strong, even enough to hold my knives in the protective sleeves they shipped in, but I noticed that if I don't attach them in a thicker part of the knife the magnet isn't necessarily strong enough to hold them exactly in place and will not stop them from rotating a bit on their own. That said, it's strong enough to pull your knives from about a half inch away and can induce a significant impact with your knife to the magnets surface which presents an opportunity to damage the blade. Be sure to place the knife's spine first and be firm when mounting it to reduce any "snap" to the magnet. It mounts pretty close to the wall, as it should, and I would not recommend any larger or smaller of a profile, but when placing or removing the knife it's possible that your fingers could get sandwiched with the wall or if there's too much of an angle your blade can easily hit the wall.Lastly, with it being metal there's an obvious potential to scratch your knives. I personally don't care that much becuase to me it shows use and standard wear (there are many things that can scratch a blade) but also I usually can't find scratches on a knife unless I'm looking for them and the light is hitting them correctly.Overall it's a great product for what it's supposed to do and is beautiful, strong and sturdy. Theres definitely a learning curve to the product vs a traditional knife block, but we buy beautiful and expensive knives and this is an excellent way to show them off and let them be a part of your kitchen. Would recommend .

Works Well. Easy to Install.
I bought the 10" version of this knife magnet, and I am really enjoying it so far. This was my first time using one of these, and I was apprehensive about the idea of suspending my knives with magnets instead of storing in a block or with a sheath. However, this is definitely a great storage solution if you have a safe place to put it. Mine is over corner of my sink in a spot where my hands and other objects aren't likely to bump the bar or knives. As for the quality and ease of use, the stainless steel finish looks premium, and the magnets are more than strong enough to hold an array of small and large knives. I have 5 stuck on the bar now. The largest is a 10" chef knife, and the smallest is a 3.5" pairing knife. My only slight issue is that I wish I'd bought a slightly larger bar as mine is a bit crowded at the moment. But that is on me and not the product. Three knives (one big, one medium, and one small) is probably the ideal setup for a 10" bar.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase thus far, and I'd recommend it.
