Dee Zee DZ43204 Tailgate Assist fits 2015-Current Ford F150, Multicolor

Installed in less than 10 minutes. Should of ordered this the day I got my F150 instead of waiting a year. Works great! It actually opens slower than I expected. Its such a soft open that it makes absolutely no noise when it gets fully open. Not sure if it will speed up as the shock gets older but either way I can wait 2 to 3 seconds for it to open versus it slam open or have to hold the weight all the way down when most times my hands are full when I'm opening the tailgate.

Should’ve gotten it sooner. My biggest concern was that it would get in the way. It’s very nicely tucked away and does a great job. I have a steel plate on my tailgate and it lowers it just fine. Very easy to install. Fits nice and tucked away. Tailgate doesn’t slam down anymore and worth the money. 2020 f150

This made a huge difference with my tailgate. No more worrying about it dropping open. The "shock" offers the perfect amount of resistance. The tailgate comes down smooth and softly, but not too slow.

I put this on my 2015 Ford F150. I have 2 complaints and they are rather minute. First one is the protective adhesive piece they give you to protect against any potential rubbing between the gas cylinder and the sidewall of where your tail gate closes is not very adhesive. I cleaned the area before applying it but I can see that it will probably not stay on long. That said, I really don't think it is necessary on my install as I don't see it currently close enough during the closing and opening to rub.Secondly is the noise. For some reason I thought it was going to work like the OEM one's do on the newer trucks where you don't hear anything. With mine you can easily hear the gas being purged inside the cylinder while it lets the gate down. I find it rather annoying and my hearing is not all that good in the first place.It says the finish is painted. Mine was not and looked exactly like it does on the product page. It might be coated with some finish (maybe zinc or something) but I couldn't find any info saying it was. I painted mine black before installing it (you can see in my pictures), everything except the ball surface where the gas strut attaches as I don't want any rusting issues. I used trailer ball grease on the two ball surfaces before attaching the cylinder.The instructions are exceptional. Full color, very detailed and easy to follow if you can count.It works as described although I still don't like the noise.

This one of the better products for your tailgate. It was very easy to install and once complete the tailgate was very easy to open and close. the tailgate comes down slowly without that big bang when it opens. Closing was made easier also. I would recommend this product if you want a really good tailgate dampener.

99.9% perfect , it fit perfect and easy to put on the only thing I don’t like is you can here the oil flowing thought it when it’s moving .
