I always use butter for baking pies and this container is very useful.. i can just cut the butter right away.. live it!

In order to use this correctly, you have to place the container upside down, which wouldn't be a problem, if LocknLock made the bottom look like the top. But sitting on the counter, the dish just doesn't look right. It seals well, but we just couldn't keep looking at a piece of tupperware that didn't look right-side-up.

I've been using this for 18 months.Pros:It stops oxidation of butter, the seal is air tight. Works great, it sits sealed on the counter and the butter will last for at least a couple weeks.It has a convenient measuring scaleBase raises butter up so it's easy to serve.Price is very good.Cons:It pulls apart into 3 pieces to clean (dishwasher safe top rack) but that is a little bit more "work".The hinges are plastic, and might fail, but still are fine after 18 months. Then again, I am not using stick butter every day (which is why the seal is important)

Well made and seals well which preserves your butter for longer. Just know that a full brick of butter will not fit into it - but the 1/4 bricks of butter are perfect.

A great many containers from Lock and Lock, in various sizes and shapes, are used mostly for dry goods but a few for liquids. A smaller number are also used for non-food items including screws and other small items.When used for food, all but one or two that were stated not to be air- or water-tight and purchased with that understanding, are completely sealed when locked. This is is unusual in that it is essentially used upside-down with the block of butter - it will hold a 500g block if and when they can be found - placed on the rough side of the tray which then fits within what is normally its lid but is now the base; the larger portion then is placed over the contents and the locking flaps engaged.All Lock and Lock containers are fridge, freezer and microwave safe, are easy to clean in warm soapy water and dry quite quickly. The locking flaps are guaranteed to last through at least one million operations and, to date, none has yet failed after years of use; some are literally locked and unlocked several times daily.

A great product from lock& lock.Original. Spacious, but you may not be able to fit a regular 500 GM's butter as our butter block is not quite a rectangular piece. A little trimming of the top of the butter block and the box closes beautifully!
