Thompson Chain Reference Bible Loose Leaf – January 1, 2015

It was just as described if not better! Box was as described, yet the Bible was BRAND NEW despite being printed twenty yes ago. Some pages had not even been opened up to, as the gilding still had the pages together! What a gem! Its B-e-a-u-i-ful! I love it!

This Topical chain reference bible is the BEST investment I ever made in my walk with God. I bought mine back in 1994 when I became a Christian and I am buying two more today for a friend and my son who is coming to the age where he will be needing more "meat" this Bible is not only the inspired word of God but it contains the tools we need in order to look up subjects and find scriptures. quick and easy right on hand when you need them. It is a top rate reference bible - if you have this - you really could make it the rest of your christian walk with no other reference. Basically it's not ment to give you someone elses point of view, but only to help you FIND the scriptures you need in your daily life. If you're dealing with parenting issues - you look up the subject of parenting or family in the reference part and it will give you the SCRIPTURES that pertain to this subject. You then can read Gods word about this subject - not someones oppinion. Or if you have a friend who would like to know more about baptism - you could look up baptism in the refernce and it will give you SCRIPTURES about this subject that you can look up. IT's GREAT!I can't speak highly enough about The Thompson Chain Reference Bible - As I stated above - it was and IS the best investment I have ever made in my christian life. It has made studying the Bible not only possible - but EASY. I am so greatful for it.

If you are a serious Bible reader, you cannot get any better than a Thompson Chain Reference Bible. I have a handy size KJV one that I have had for 20 years, which is still in good condition. I had this need to buy another Bible, but wanted one in todays language, with a bigger type and this one hit the spot. I can't explain taking a new Thompson Chain Reference out of it's box and plastic bag, and smelling the leather. Then checking it out since it's all updated and I was really happy the words of Christ are in red even without advertising it. It just comes with Bible. As I prepared my new Bible for use by doing this exercise that I learned in grammar school to do to new books that you don't break the binding, I was thrilled with the quality and at such a great price.What more need I say...It's a Thompson, I love it. Thank you Amazon for the amazing price... Oh, Future Beach Bunny had to do with another purchase of a sun shelter for the beach, because I can't stay in the sun...that's another review.

This was a present to myself. I have used and enjoyed Thompson Chain Reference bibles most of my adult life, starting of course with the King James Version translation. When the NIV full translation (both OT and NT) were available I switched to the Thompson in NIV. Unfortunately, my other copies are relatively small/compact which makes them difficult to read at times. When I started my seminary studies (working on a MDiv) I decided to "treat" myself to this large print edition.Overall, it's great and I'd buy it again if I had a reason to do do. That said, although I can't quantify anything specific, the pages, etc. don't quite "feel" as high of quality as my other copies from Kirkbride. It may be that's just a function of being such a large edition??? In any case, I believe I received good value for my money and if you need or want a large print edition I wouldn't hesitate to buy this version.

If you want a study Bible that has not been influenced by any denomination, then this is it. I have used it for many decades. The chain references is a great help in study throughout topics in the OT and NT. I have the other versions, but wanted the 1984 NIV. I did NOT want the so called new NIV. As far as I know BB Kirkbride does not use the new NIV yet. I located their website and they plainly stated that none of their Bibles in NIV were the 2011 NIV new. So, I don't know if these are the last of their kind for BB Kirkbride. Some study Bibles are going to the ESV. I have an ESV and like it, but not as much as the NIV 84 translation. This is one great Bible reference system IF one just wants the Word to meditate and come up with their own conclusion with the help of the Holy Spirit. Translations are in KJV, NKJV, NASB, and NIV 84.

FINALLY! A study Bible that makes study enjoyable, easy, and deeply motivating! The many reference pages are beyond description without writing a complete 50 page report so let it suffice to say, if you enjoy reading and studying God's word while learning many interesting facts about the characters, places, and history of the Bible then THIS IS THE BIBLE for you. I have not seen abetter example of a study Bible! This was an exceptional price with many others going for extremely high prices, but I can see why some would pay those prices as it is just that good!Get one today and really dig into the greatness of the word of God! I have a free version on an Android device but I do not like using it as it is not as easy to find the information. Give me a printed version for study EVERY TIME! This is the BEST!
