DEWALT Heat Gun with LCD Display & Hard Case/Accessory Kit (D26960K), Yellow

Think I paid about a buck twenty for the heat gun and Kit. (August 2020). Anyway, I lead with price because I believe I paid about the same at a local store years ago when I bought my first dewalt heat gun. (Just food for thought).Now about the review. It’s made in China (no big Surprise). My last Dewalt gun was made in Mexico I believe. But either way if it lasts forever then where it’s made is debatable.This new gun has a digital thermo regular which I thought was quite neat. My other one has a turn dial. As far as how accurate it really is... I don’t know... it gets hot and works... I didn’t bother verifying the heat.The wide variety of nozzle attachments is GOLD!! That’s the reason I bought another heat gun. My last one came with two attachments... that’s it... and I’ve always said, with the right tools. You can get the job done right and it’ll be just as professional (if not better) than paying someone else to do the job for you. So yes I recommend this Dewalt heat gun kit if you’re looking for a nice gun with plenty of attachments.As far as quality.... this gun is a little different than my other dewalt heatgun. But if it last as long as my last one then I’ll be happy.. (My older heat gun is about 6-7 years old and still works to this day) I got this kit primarily due to the attachments. (The cost of attachments separately are about half the price of a new gun anyway so I just figured now I have a backup)

I've been waiting for this heat gun to go on sale. Finally, when Amazon ran a lightning deal on it during the holiday season, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it.The Dewalt D26960K is the perfect heat gun for someone who wants a very reliable heat gun but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. It has a digital readout and comes with 12 different accessories. It feels extremely well built (as you would expect from any Dewalt tool). It also has a longer than usual cord which can possibly eliminate the need for an additional extension cord.Using the heat gun is extremely easy. All you do is simply plug it in, set the speed (low or high) and set the temperature you want. On low speed, you can set the temperature from 150-750 degrees fahrenheit. According to the manual, these temperatures are used for heating up your work piece slowly (heat shrinks, drying paint, possibly repairing electronics). On high speed, the temperature ranges from 150-1100 degrees fahrenheit. Again, according to the manual, these temperatures are used for heat up your work piece quickly (removing paint, loosening nuts & bolts, removing floor tiles). Obviously, having the option to set your temperature gives you more control during different applications. For example, if you're working on your phone, you may set the temperature lower on the low speed to avoid from frying anything out if you used the higher speed. When you're done using it, it balances very well on the built in kickstand. I've had this heat gun for a little over a month now and I absolutely love it. All of the attachments go on easily and stay there. Not once was I worried about them falling off. Just be careful not to touch them after use!The only negative I can think of is the wall scraper that comes with it. It's a little flimsy. If you're removing paint, you're better off going to a home improvement center and purchasing a better one in the drywall section. If you've been on the fence about buying it, just go ahead and do it. You won't be disappointed!

Very useful tool for your garage! This heat gun gives you a much wider range of heat intensities than most of the standard 2 temp guns on the market with its digital temp gauge that adjusts in 50* increments. Heats up relatively quickly and once dialed to a temp, the heat it puts out stays consistent. Bonus - the gun comes with a hard case and many accessories - definitely a big plus to protect your investment and give it a wider variety of practical applications (with the accessories). If you don't own a heat gun, you should. Heat guns are the type of tools that you think you will rarely use until you own one. The possible use cases are limitless.On a side note, while researching other DeWALT power tools, I have recently read a few complaints regarding a supposed "drop in quality." I have to say this heat gun is top notch for overall production quality and the ergonomics are great. Now, will it last? That's another question. I'll be sure to update my review if it doesn't.

Due to the included accessories I thought this would serve well for welding plastic. The heat gun despite being a tad bulky is very light, it heats up fast and responds quickly when adding or reducing the temperature, which it does in 50 degree increments. With the smallest reducer this worked extremely well for plastic welding (kayak repair), for work on smaller items or more intricate plastic welding I would recommend tools designed specifically for that purpose. I can say I was extremely happy with this quality performing tool. The need for melting plastic together isn't exactly a daily need for me - hmmm that's too bad cuz it was fun
