You know that old saying: you get what you pay for... i've found that to be true in the back belt department. I borrowed a Dr. Ho's belt from a friend and LOVED it. I tried a couple of cheaper brands, but was highly disappointed. I returned them and instead got this one. If you're just a casual user, cheap belts may work for you. But if you've got serious back pain looking for an everyday solution, don't even bother with cheap belts. This is what you want!Things that made it the better choice for me:- extended / plus size: Other cheaper models advertised an extender panel, but none ever managed to fit despite using the panels. This one truly fits larger sizes as advertised.- very supportive: air chambers work well and hold the air good during the day. SOme belts rely on metal rods for support, and they're not as effective and also uncomfortable- air pockets keep shape: other cheaper belts deflated fairly quickly.- comfortable fit: cheaper belts were uncomfortable material, bulkier. this one may seem a little bigger, but it does "lay well" under my clothing - if that makes any sense.- air pump and valve are superior to cheaper brands: some were hard to air up and leaked a lot of air out before I could close the cap. This one is easy to air up and the valve doesn't let a lot escape.

Absolutely an amazing product!!! My farther has been suffering from extreme back pain, which only allowed him to sit for 5 minutes at a time. He would arch his back to relief some of the pressure off his lower lumbar. I purchased this product with skeptical assumption that it will do very little for his pain. Well let me tell you, he's been mobil with out his crane and is able to reamin seated for over 30 minutes at a time with out having very little to no pain shoot throughout his lower back and legs. This product is not the permanent solution to his injury but definitely a pain reliever and thanks me every time I see him because its been very beneficial for him.

I like the product but I am skinny, with weak lower abdominal and lat/dorsi + misaligned pelvis hence back pain. The hardness of the material on my ribs makes them sore after 20 minutes. It doesn't matter whether its aired up or not, I can only use when I am somehow bundled up which is never. BUT as a compressor it really helps you posture up. It really is quality - if nothing else is helping you could do way worse than this.Some weirdform of yoga/stretching is what solved my problem but I am not upset with my purchase in the least.

I had one of the original Dr. Ho’s belts for almost 10 years, it works GREAT. Decided to get another one to keep at my new summer home. Ordered this and the belt part was ok but the pump was defective, would not work. Returned it and they sent another one, same problem. I got my money back and bought something from another maker. They need to check who’s making the pump part of the product and correct the problem. My old belt is a life saver for my back. Comfortable, decompresses, and supports my back.Go back to making them like you did when you started Dr. Ho. Compared to the older one this one is cheaply made.

I ordered this product because I heard many good things about it. I ordered 2 and both that came did NOT work. One of them the PUMP is broken… the other one, the Belt does not keep in air.When I ordered a replacement, the pump from the new one that came ALSO DID NOT work! How can they sell a product like this? Such a big waste of time having to deal with 2 returns… Now if I want to purchase another one to replace this, I have to pay MORE money? How does that make sense? I purchases this for $65 and now it’s worth $99? With NO option for a replacement? Some garbage company for a Crap product. DO NOT BUY this POS. Buyer Beware!!!!!

Did its job well, but my husband lost weight and then it didn't fit, so choose size accordingly.

I don't like the belt is made with that stinky plastic Smells like skunk when I use it. For $200 you would think it could be made with good material. Very disappointed with that.. You get an exercise video and good advice from Dr Ho with it.I guess I'm too heavy to use it properly because it keeps sliding up until it's at my chest - inflated or not. Working on my weight and will keep trying. although I don't see how the compression works. Yes, it inflates but unless you're thin and in shape I doubt if it will do anything, If I did it over again, I'd wait until I had a figure like Raquel Welsh in her 20's.
