Good shaving soap at a great value.
I have been a brush shaver for 40 years. Once you shave with hot waster and brushed on shaving soap, you can never go back to cold shaving cream again. I was a big fan of Colgate shaving soap, but that went off the market. Since then I have tried several soaps, but found even the most expensive once do not really do a better job than the Williams' shaving soap. And, curiously, Williams soap lasts longer. The only problem is finding it! Many pharmacies no longer carry shaving soap, which you probably already know if you are here on Amazon reading this review.Buy it. You'll like it. And if you are just starting out trying shaving with a brush and soap, you are in for a very pleasant discovery. (And by the way, to make the shaving experience really easy and pleasant, put a little hot water in the soap mug as you begin to wash your face. it softens the soap and makes it easier to apply with the brush. Works great.)

Good stuff, hope they dont stop selling this.
One year now ,I can honestly say for the price you can't go wrong with this stuff.I use a borse hair brush that I soaked during shower, mix in a small three inch saramice bowel then lather in a water heated scuttle best lather ever. Every one says dilute with a lot of water, don't ,you want to use just enough to work up a lather a little at a time so that it's thick concentrated lather, not bubbly and airy. And if you do it right you will get an awesome shave. Makes a good shower and hair soap. Oh ya keep the puck wet all the time don't let it dry out keep a little water on it between shaves and it Will load fast and thick good luck and enjoy.

I have been using Williams Mug Shaving Soap for years ...
I have been using Williams Mug Shaving Soap for years. I first was buying it at Walgreens. Walgreens stopped selling Williams Shaving soap and offered another brand that was more expensive and the soap was whipped in the manufacturing process filling it with air. Thus it does not last as long as the Williams Shaving Soap. CVS sold Williams Mug Shaving soap for a long time after Walgreens stopped selling it. In the last few months CVS has stopped selling the Williams Mug Shaving Soap and offered the same unacceptable product the Walgreens sells. The price is higher to buy it online, but at least I can still buy the Williams Mug Shaving Soap.

This soap is the gold standard!
This is the gold standard shaving soap in America. The criticism I have read from time to time is that it generates bubbles, not lather. Such people need training. I have used it off and on, mostly on, for forty years. Another criticism is that it smells and indeed it does, It's a great clean smell. It also contains tallow, so they say. I say that's great and gives the soap body. This soap has been made since the American Civil War and for good reason!

Great product
I love the old fashion hot lather to shave with as I have a tough beard to tackle each day. It's well worth the money to me.

Best Bang for the Buck
Williams Mug is the forever soap. This is the soap Wyatt Earp would have had his barber use. If stored properly this soap will last forever. Even older pucks of the Vintage formula can be found on Ebay, and they fetch high prices due to it being able to still be used. Store these properly and learn how to properly lather this product you will see the value in this Shave Soap.

Williams Mug Shaving Soap
I could not find Williams Mug Shaving Soap @ any store. I've been shaving w/ this product most of my life. The price was more than when I could find it in the stores but at least I've got a supply to last for a while.
