Perfect out of the box
This unit replaced an older CST/Berger level that fell over in the wind. This unit worked perfectly right out of the box. Optics were very clear, and unit was very easy to use. So far very happy with this purchase

Gr8 product for the price
If you are doing rather simple layouts, this is a great product. zeroing and leveling quicker with more use. The case is of decent quality and instructions are easy to understand.

Good for the price, needed calibration.
Calibration:I tested this with a two peg test after receiving and it read 9/16 is an inch high at 100 feet which is not great. On a positive note, I was able to precisely repeat my calibration measurement, so the precision is there if I can get it calibrated.Build quality:A mix of die-cast metal and plastic, mostly distributed in the right places for the choice of cost savings vs durability. It is quite hefty and has a cast leveling base which I'm sure accounts for much of the weight.The leveling screws are very responsive and have only the smallest amount of slop. At high rates of level adjustment you can definitely detect some asymmetric warping which can be frustrating for off-axis measurements but can mostly be avoided by more carefully leveling the tripod.Optics:I got the 26x model which is serviceable out to 150 feet and maybe a bit further. At 150 feet the parallax is more obvious and I'd say it's plus or minus 1/4th of an inch, but with careful observation I can closely approximate the center. The eye relief is VERY short so don't even think about wearing glasses. If your contacts are a touch thick, I'd be worried.
