Finally One that really works!
I hand out compliments on stuff I like and on stuff that actually works because I know from experience how frustrating it is to make a purchase and discover that it was garbage. Well ladies and gentleman, let me say that if you are looking for a device to transfer your LP's and cassettes to digital MP3's, than... LOOK NO FURTHER!!! I have had the ones that are highly rated and turn out to be GARBAGE!!! Not to worry, this is a great product that actually works and actually cuts on the hissing sound and actually clears up the noise. A great buy. A must have for anyone interested in converting Lp's and cassettes.

Crash Problems.
In general the program is easy to use and does what it promises. The one major problem is the program will crash after several hour of converting tape to the program. All the data from the tape is lost and the entire project and the program has to be restarted.

Easy to use, High Quality recordings
I was a record collector starting in my early teens when today's Classic Rock songs were being issued as new releases. Many of these old albums were hard to find 40 years ago. What a great way to listen to them without buying them a second time!I have a nice stereo and an expensive turntable that still work fine. The amp/pre-amp setup did not have a "line-out" connection available so I connected my computer and Roxio to the headphone jack on the amplifier. I went to a guitar store to buy a quality converter to connect the 3.5mm jack supplied in the package to the larger headphone jack used in my stereo. There are more capabilities to manage the raw recording before you create MP3 files than I had expected. Close to Sound Forge quality, but not as robust in fine tuning features.I have been kept busy "ripping" the albums and songs I have not found on iTunes or in CD format. Old cassette tapes come across just as easily. A great buy!

Stay Away From This Product!
First of all, the USB interface hijacked my system, and made itself the default sound device for everything - I was able to fix this for the most part by myself through the Windows Control Panel. However, it also disabled my Cubase program's ability to hear it's own Presonus Firewire interface, until I removed the USB device from the System/device section of Windows Control Panel. But that's not even the main problem, I never got past the main screen, and into the Vinyl/Tape converter, Sound Editor, or Tag editor. All I would get is the Windows message about "an unexpected problem". Roxio only offers support via web ticket, unless you want to pay $1.98 per minute, and it takes 24-48 to get a response each time. They had me give them screen shots of the error codes, my system screen, and the main view of the program, and text files of the error code reports. After all of that specific information, they offered such specific advice as, defragment your hard drive, and update your video drivers. The end advice they gave me was that if I still had problems I should return it! Which is why I am sending it back, and waiting to see if Amazon gives me full, partial, or no refund, because it's open software. I tried using the Roxio User Forum, right on the user site, but the best advice I got from the local "expert" was that Roxio products sometimes require a "clean install" which involves removing all of their other products, downloading and running a utility from Microsoft, and MANUALLY editing the Windows registry! yeah, right.I been using PCs since my first 8086, DOS 3.5 computer in 1989, and this is the first time I have absolutely failed to get a program to run! What part of all of that sounds "easy"?I don't know which product might be better, but buy anything else but this!

Adequate Documentation Needed
First, I installed this software under Windows XP 32 Bit. Except for not being completely easy due to inadequate documentation, like the product description states, they do provide "everything you need to easily digitize, clean up and convert audio from analog LPs and cassettes to MP3". The Getting Started Guide does provide the needed information to get you started with the basics, but using all the features/tools with the included documentation takes some experimentation, and much time, which one would not need to do if the documentation was adequate. For example, although they provide information on the Denoiser tool, they do not provide the detailed information to really use/understand it. The settings for the Denoiser are listed in db (decibels), but if one sets it at -4 db, what does that mean: reduce the noise -4 db below the maximum noise level, reduce the noise -4 db below the maximum signal level, reduce the noise -4 db below the average signal level, what? It was like that for other features/tools too. If they included files which were designed to illustrate the effects of the features/tools included, that would be a big help in using/understanding all the features/tools; maybe they will read this review and do that.A caveat: When one installs the software, the audio settings in Sounds settings in the Control Panel are set to the Easy LP To MP3 audio device, so one must access this in the Control Panel and reset the audio device to the original device to return sound to one's computer speakers and headphones, and reset the audio device for any other audio items which have been changed to the Easy LP To MP3 audio device by Easy LP To MP3 when it was installed.

poor customer service and poor instructions
had some issues with connecting the hardware, instructions were really vague and wasted 1 1/2 hours talking to a tech support and solved nothing - guy was clueless and was a total waste of time. Finally someone sent me a detailed link on how best to connect old technology to a computer. figured it out pretty much on my own, but would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Better than I thought
After reading all of the reviews, I bought this product, knowing from the negative reviews it might be somewhat complicated. When I first tried the product, I saw how some users might complain. This is a very good product and comes with an entire suite of software. I stumbled until I learned all the hows and whys. In the end, there are very few limits to what can be accomplished using this product.

Still haven't used this.
I still haven't even opened this product, I received it just before I moved, and it's still packed away in a box somewhere at my Brothers house. But I'm sure I'll love it when I finally have the time to get to this. LOL

Just software and a set of cables
The product sounds OK online, but all it is is cables that end a signal (analog) to the computer, and a software program. The USB converter is not plug and play. If you have any of the little digital recorders (such as a Zoom H2) you can just connect the output from your stereo to it, and get good MP3 or Wave files with out the hassle of the computer ,software installation, recognition of the USB sound cable etc. The manual is impenetrable and of little use. I do not recommend this product

Excellent
I had an earlier version of this product. This is easier to transfer LP to iPod. I have approximately 400 LP's.
