Safe strong support with minimum obstruction.
This is just what my 88-yr-old husband needs to help him get in & out of bed. He loses his balance occasionally and is a fall risk. Our bed is an antique that we’ve adapted to a thick mattress & box spring and topped with a memory foam pad. Thus it’s higher than most. I set up the Vive Bed Assist Rail (no instructions were included but it was easy to figure it out and even easier to do it) in minutes. I’m 80 years old and don’t understand why some others had problems. I lifted the mattress by a corner with one arm and shoved the horizontal rods between mattress and box spring with the other. I adjusted it so the handle bar is even with the mattress surface and the vertical uprights are 1/2” away from the bed. This way he isn’t restricted or endangered by the rail but has its full support to lean on and stabilize himself, and the top covers and bedspread can hang over the side over the rail. Also, there is ample room between the mattress and rail to change the fitted bottom sheet. The unit is sturdy and works for him beautifully. If at some point in the future he will benefit from a higher rail, we see no problem with raising it a notch or two.

It Fits and it Works!
After ordering another brand of side rail that didn't adjust to our bed height, we took a guess that this might work. Good news is that it has a huge range of adjustability for the part that goes between mattress and box spring . This rail is incredibly sturdy, easy to assemble, and has a foam bumper all the way around on the part that you grab on to so know unwanted bruises! Also provides a point of reference for the side of the bed so no more falling out. Relieved that we were able to find a solution second time out, as none of the reviews for this kind of rail (except this one) seem to indicate the range of heights of the box spring in order for it to work. Thanks for a great prouduct. (FYI, our box spring is 13" and the kit goes as low as 12")

Great Product Makes Getting In/Out of Bed Easier
This product was purchased after a surgery to make it easier to get in/out of bed. It was easy to assemble and then place under the mattress, The legs add extra stability and the strap that goes around the mattress was not needed. The stability bars that go between the mattress and box screen are longer than some competitors and make it sturdier. Even though I have recovered from the surgery I have kept this on the bed because it makes it so much easier to get in/out of bed. Good value, sturdy and easy to assemble.

Great Product!
Currently I'm in the process of a long recovery after back surgery and the minute my husband attached this to my bed I had such a sense of relief.I now have help to steady myself in & out of bed, push myself away from the edge of the bed and turn over better - huge issues when movements like these can cause a lot of pain. The handle bar sits about 4 inches above the mattress (I have a platform bed and a 3 inch memory foam topper on the mattress) so it's not too high, not too low, easy to reach and not in the way of anything. The rubberized handle is cushioned just right and keeps you from slipping. Overall this railing is very sturdy and worth the price. Highly recommended!

Nice and Sturdy
My husband was scheduled for back surgery and he has a bad hip. I knew we were going to need something to help him get out of bed. He’s a bigger guy and this worked perfectly. When he rolls over he can grab it to help and when he stands up he can push off of it which greatly helps him and saves my back. It is small enough that it doesn’t get in his way when standing. Very easy to put together. I would highly recommend getting this.

My Dad Says: "This will save my life."
This product is exactly what we needed for my 180-pound elderly Dad. He needs a stable support aid so that he can stand up from his bed. The strength and stability of this product is thanks to a combination of four pivotal features: First, the bars go about half-way between his mattress and box spring so the weight keeps the bar in-place. Second, there are two rubber-covered feet that sit securely on the floor. This creates excellent stability that we can trust for Dad to lean his weight on so he can stand up. Third, the handle is covered in a tacky (not sticky) material that allows him to get a good, firm grip. And, finally, it height-adjustable.The installation does not require any tools. It does require normal arm strength: you've got to be able to shove the bar between the mattress and box spring. My Dad could not have handled that on his own.The morning after we installed it for him, he said "This will save my life." He feels so much more safe and confident to stand up. And, once in a standing position, he can grab his walker and go.

Far superior to other bed assist rails
This Vive Bed Assist Rail that has two legs that contact the floor is the best choice if you want something that is stable, and provides a safe transition into and out of bed.The legs that contact the floor provide for a stable, non-wiggling hand rail. The hand rail is the perfect width, wide enough, but not too long to get prevent an easy access into or out of bed.The height of the rail is also adjusted to fit your needs.Another feature of this bed assist rail is that the portion this goes under your mattress goes much further than others. This provides for a much more secure placement for the device. It does not move. Finally, the strap for securing the device under your mattress includes a “T” type bracket, making a sure your device will not come out from under the mattress.

Works well for our needs
Easy to put together and works well for our needs. A rail slides under the mattress and extends halfway across for a queen mattress. The support rail sitting on the floor is easily adjustable for height. We have 2 of these railings, one on opposite sides of the bed. One thing to note is that multiple railings must be staggered and cannot be directly across from each other as the rails under the mattress extend past each other.
