The HQ Camera is what you need for hi perfromance imaging projects with the Raspberry Pi.
I needed another camera module to finish my PiFinder which is a new technology wonder that helps you point your telescope to deep sky objects. This camera is very sensitive and uses low power which is why it's used in the PiFinder Coupled with a Raspberry Pi you have a great combination for just about any camera project.

make your own lab microscope
I have a pi zero 2w I bought before the prices got crazy.I added this and the Arducam 8-50 zoom lens to the pi (the zero 2w is smaller than the lens)I'm running raspberry pi os 64 bit lite (with no desktop)Even without a desktop you can view the camera output on the HDMI monitor, It's full HD and 60 frames per second:The first picture shows live video running to HDMI with the command:libcamera-vid --width 1920 --height 1080 -t 0 --framerate 60The second image is a 1 to 1 pixel crop of a sample PCB, there is a millimeter scale ruler on the left of the picture. The command to capture the image (4056x3040) was:libcamera-jpeg -o mypic4.jpg

Great Camera and Quality
Great camera and quality. Nice to have the camera cables included. Pi Case nothing to write home about. Camera worked great for the eclipse in a Solar Telescope. Really fast shipping.

It's pretty good and versatile
It's a cool upgrade from the older one and I like being able to swap the lenses. I'm currently playing with it as an IP/security camera but have been thinking of putting it in an RC car as a pov / VR driving.

Excellent camera but expensive
I needed a camera with a C-mount that worked well with Linux for a microscope I'm building. I got this camera, and the results are excellent compared to the small raspberry pi camera.

Working camera but false advertising
Received the camera and it works perfectly, unfortunately instead of 5 stars I had to drop it to 3 because of falsely advertising a case in the photos.Highly suggest either start including the case or updating the photos to exclude the case.
