I took the subscription for this tea to get a break on price, but I go thru it quickly. Fresh & great flavor

This isn't really a breakfast tea. The flavor is light and complex for a black tea. But that's just all yunnan's, so unless you're new to tea, that isn't unexpected.Flavors are chocolatey and malty, very subtle and fragrant. I wouldn't touch it with milk or sugar, all of the flavor would be completely lost. There's no astringency or bitterness, and next to no tannins.Well packaged, nary a broken leaf in the bag. Leaves are large and beautifully rolled with lots of golden tips.Yunnan teas tend to be super "volumetric" so you can't just use a spoon to measure it. Either do some trial and error and "eyeball" a good amount (it's more than you'd think, but the bag has plenty in it) or pick up a cheap precision pocket scale that drug dealers use. I find 2.5-3 grams of tea per 8 oz water is perfect, so 8 grams of tea in my 24oz teapot is perfect.

I would have said I don't enjoy black tea but this tea has an amazing flavor. I was a little hesitant to buy a big bag and risk not liking it but after reading reviews on how much people loved it, I took the chance. I now drink this tea just about every day. It has a really nice flavor and is a nice orange color. I dry out the leaves and use them twice (I may throw in a couple of fresh leaves for the second cup) and this tea really goes a long way. After reading about the benefits of black tea, I really wanted to find one I could tolerate - well, this is it and I have to say I enjoy it rather than just tolerating it!

I order this tea on a regular basis and it is great. Its a smooth, bold tea that really does the job at waking me up in the mornings.

I liked the aroma and flavor of this tea. The leaves are large, making it difficult to measure.

If you like rich, malty tea that's not too acidic, this is worth the price. Yunnan gold is my favorite kind of tea and this is a good example; I'm happy with the brand. If you're looking for a more ordinary black tea you might look somewhere else.

I only gave this bag of tea 3 stars, the first bag I ordered would have gotten 5 stars if I had rated it. The first bag was delicious but the second bag tasted completely different, more like Earl Grey but slightly odd tasting. I will drink it but I'm not really enjoying it like the first one. I will order again probably just to see if this bag was just a fluke. Really like teavana golden monkey but it's just too expensive.
