Great Service | Well Made | Didn't Survive Off-Road
This is an updated review. Everything that follows is correct, unfortunately including that the construction material isn't flexible enough to handle a notable impact. I ran over a broken branch on a grass-covered two-track and it swung up and broke the passenger side flap. The good news is Red Hound replied to my email within 24 hours and send a replacement, which arrived within a week. Great service and, obviously, Red Hound stands behind their products. Original review follows:These flaps are perfect for unpaved roads and tracks where road visibility is good. These mud flaps are sturdy and fit well, but I was hoping the material would be more flexible. During hunting season I run my Ram off-road on paths full of deep pot holes I can't always avoid. Concerned this product won't handle an impact.I have an automotive lift, which eased installation, but as others have pointed out, a 90 degree angle drill or removing the tires is really desirable. The tools I needed included a hobby drill, a 7/64th (not 1/8th as suggested) drill bit, 8mm deep socket and 1/4" ratchet, a 3mm hex wrench to remove the bottom plastic clips on the existing guards (my truck has the large guards), a shorty #2 Phillips screw driver, a center punch and Corrosion X to protect the metal after drilling the additional holes in the wheel arches. The kit came with protective film, but I decided it was useless, so I didn't install them after the first one. The instructions call for drilling a 1/8" hole for the extra screw hole, but using the supplied screw clips would just scratch the paint further, so I drilled 7/64th holes, hit them with the Corrosion X and used the supplied screws to tap the hole. My truck has rear wheel opening liners, which means there's two layers of plastic in the back. With the limited space, I was able to pierce the first layer of the wheel opening liner by applying force to the screw, but not the second. If your truck doesn't have wheel opening liners, this won't be a problem. For the front liners, I found that turning the wheel out eased attaching the outside mud flap screws and turning the wheel inside eased attaching the wheel liner screw.

Quality and value
I put a set of these mud guards on my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The guards are molded and fit the contours of the body of my truck very well. They were not difficult to install, and they seem to be durable as I have had them mounted for about six weeks. I drive about one mile of gravel road to my house and they stopped stones and dirt from hitting the panels on my truck.

Good quality, easy installation
Great quality for the money, nice and wide so the kick up stays off the body. Rugged when installed and looks better than Weathertech products I’ve installed on similar vehicles.

Great value and easy install
After switching to a larger tire on my Ram 2500, I needed some mud flaps to prevent excessive mud and tar splatter. My initial concern was fit, as I have cheaper knockoff “OE style” fender flairs, not true Ram OEM fender flairs. The quality (beefiness) of the flaps was great and the install I would rate as easy and took about 45 minutes. The fit with my cheaper fender flairs was terrific. I also thought the look (without Ram logos) was very clean and uncluttered. The wife has ruled out adding a chrome “mudflap girl” later. Overall, I think these flaps are an excellent value. One note on the install and some of the install tips on this thread. While on the front install everything can be done from the side (wheels cranked), the rear install for me required drilling from the bottom while laying on the driveway. I used and would suggest using an angle drill attachment (about $15). I would also suggest not skipping the drilling and third fastener install. While the fit is fine with two fasteners, with some light pressure you can create a gap that ruins the clean look of a proper install.Relating to alternative eight penny nail method suggested by others, I would caution against trying to force a lava hot nail -- held with pliers -- a few inches from your chest/throat/face. Also, on a Ram 2500 the middle layer that you must drill through is actually aluminum – I don’t see how one would get sufficient leverage to get the nail through two layers of plastic and one aluminum.

Excellent fit
These were the nicest fitting mudflaps I've installed, they look great!

Not the “grandpa” look thankfully
Good fit and instructions but pretty easy to figure out even if you didn’t have them. Price is definitely right compared to other options. My biggest concern - laugh if you will - is that I didn’t want the old grandpa truck look. If I can delay turning into my father as long as possible I will. I was tired of my shiny clean truck getting totally dirty after just one little rain shower. I’m hoping these will let all that effort to keep this beast clean last a little longer as well as keep the spray down a bit from the toys I haul around on trailers.I put these on a 2014 Ram 2500. I run a leveling kit with bigger tires on stock wheels. I did not want something that would be very noticeable and these should do the trick. Good coverage but don’t stick out too far. No gawdy big RAM logos or chrome naked lady outlines. Just clean and subtle.

Very easy to install
Ordered these mud flaps for my 2012Ram 1500 Laramie. This review is only on installation as I have driven the truck with the mud flaps on yet. Installation was super easy took about 45mins, only had to drill 1 hole per flap. Everything lined up nicely. Very happy with the installation process of these mud flaps. They look very nice on my truck.

Have Worked Well!
Easy to install. Existing holes line up well, but I did not bother installing the last screw into the plastic wheel well (no support anyway). This has not presented a problem so far (18 months later). The protective plastic tape that installs over the paint edge is a waste of time. Whenever I take them off, I will try simple electrical tape to protect the paint before re-installing. I am happy with this product especially at this price point. If installed since new, I am sure these would protect the leading edge of the factory chrome running board (step bar) that seems to break down so easily.

A MUST BUY!
I'm only giving these four stars because I have nothing else to compare them to but I am absolutely thrilled with how they look and perform so far. Also the fit is almost perfect as far as I'm concerned and can't imagine anything else being any better!I love that they don't sport logos of any kind as well because minimalist is where it's at certainly with trucks right now. I debadged mine and these guards give it a nice clean and finished look!

This product is as good as any OEM
This product is as good as any OEM. I work in a body shop and it fit and aligned perfectly with the inner fender liner factory screws. The clear protective tape is a step up from factory as when I removed the factory trim piece on the fender heal there was none and it had already left a mark in the paint. Great product. Thank you for a great product at half the price of factory. Len
