Received my easel this afternoon and promptly put it together. For many years I worked in an art supply store and have put together many easels — from basic A-frame models to elaborate artists’ styles. This one gave me a bit of trouble on one page of instructions, but mainly because the diagram was rendered so small that the placement of a few pieces was confusing. However, once I figured out what I was doing wrong, it was pretty easy.The easel itself is beautiful to look at. As long as all the adjustment knobs are turned tightly, it’s quite sturdy and holds a large canvas securely. Be sure the top bracket is down tightly against the top of the canvas before tightening the knob to keep it in place and it will keep the canvas from wobbling. Also, there’s a notch/channel in the top bracket that isn’t on the bottom one (2nd pic). If you’re using a canvas panel (versus a stretched canvas), be sure the panel is inside that notch and it will keep it steady… again, as long as that bracket is firmly pushed down before tightening, the bottom of the canvas panel shouldn’t move unless you’re a super aggressive painter.Extremely happy with the purchase as it’s a great quality easel for the price!

Easy to put together, under 30 mins. Heavy beautiful wood. Cheaper than any easel fromart supply stores. Exactly as described. Can probably hold heavier than product listed.

Though a little tough to assemble, this easel is far better than all the easels I have bought particularly with reference to price and its strength and aesthetics.

I'm really happy with this easel! It's a beautiful shade of reddish brown wood. Like another reviewer said, it looks like an expensive piece of furniture and it'll be a shame to start getting paint on it!! My pics show a 16x20 canvas board, but I bought it to start doing larger paintings. It's sturdy and looks like it'll be very easy to adjust. It holds the canvas board very securely. It comes in a LOT of pieces and hardware. But everything was packaged nicely and is marked extremely well, and the directions were very easy to understand. Make sure to assemble it on top of a table so you don't have to crouch down on the floor like I did when I started putting it together. After that, it goes very smoothly. Well worth the money!

It’s a nice easel. My only complaint is the bar that the canvas sits on has two knobs for adjusting, which isn’t perfectly level and you have to level it by hand before tightening it. You won’t know if it’s level until you slide the top bar down to secure the painting. If it’s not level you have to go back and readjust the bottom bar again so that the top bar fits flush to the canvas. Very annoying design flaw.

I ordered and received the Meeden DW01(HT) easel, the top piece that holds the canvas was broken, but I contacted them and they are sending the piece. The quick response and service were awesome.As for the easel, it was easy to assemble, very sturdy, great looking and can handle a wide range of canvas sizes. I only write reviews when a product is great or when it is bad, this is great.I would definitely recommend this easel.

I ordered the Meeden AFE-6038 easel I received it damged so Amazon sent out a new one but that one was damaged as well. I contacted Meeden they were a joke acting like they cared then telling me they could offer a 30.00 refund. no other word from Meeden horrible customer service and only email contact offered. I spent 140.00 for the China Special easel Meeden may look good but they're all made in China. However my hats off to Amazon I asked for a part of a refund they stated they can't do that Amazon gave me a full complete refund May one star is for Meeden Horrible customer service! extremely weak packaging for a 140.00 easel.

The media could not be loaded. I contacted AMAZON regarding the flaw mentioned in previous video review and AMAZON sent me a brand new replacement of Meeden art easel! The new one is flawless and is exactly as originally expected. Apparently the original had a flaw in the main center bar (parts 10 and 13). It appears that they were not properly coated compared to the replacement. I am VERY SATISFIED and would highly recommend!As I show in the video the instructions are difficult to follow; All in small pictures. Each piece was separately encased in little foam sleeves All hardware was included and each set in separate little zip-lock bags all numbered perfectly. I would Absolutely Love to give this product 5 stars. However it is not usable due to a manufacturing flaw. Because it was a Christmas gift it’s too late to return. The company is located in China. I am going to request a replacement piece and hope for the best. Otherwise, I suppose I can use construction glue and C clamps and try to put the wooden pieces soundly together. At this time I simply cannot recommend this product
