Perfect for cold New England winters!
I live in New England, and my condo is on the ground floor right over my building’s subterranean garage. New England winters can get bitterly cold, and no amount of insulation--both built in to the floors and supplemented with area rugs--can stop my floors from becoming absolutely frigid. In the winter, there can be more than a 10 degree temperature difference between my ceilings and my floors.I tried to solve my cold floor problem by setting up fans to circulate the warm air down to the ground, but this did nothing to raise the floor temperature. In fact, the warm air ended up being cooled by the floors rather than the floors being warmed by the air. And not only was it noisy with the fans going, it also ended up increasing my heating bill. Turns out circulating the air turned the floor into a heat sink.I tried space heaters, but that was like running a 1500W hair dryer in the middle of the floor. Most of the heat went straight up, and the point-source couldn’t distribute the heat around the room very well.Heaters installed directly into the floors would be nice, but that would be thousands upon thousands of dollars to tear up the floors and install them.I stumbled onto these Hot Carpet rug warmers almost by accident, but I decided to give one a try. I sandwiched one between my rug and a rug pad on the bottom, and it worked perfectly and solved my cold floor problem immediately! With the source of heat at the lowest point in the room, it’s a barrier against the cold floor with everything above it maintained at a comfortable temperature. And because the heat is spread out over a wide area, the heat is distributed more evenly throughout the room.It worked so well, I bought two more 500W models! And even though running three rug warmers uses 1500W of electricity, my total energy bill ends up being lower. The cost of using that electricity to provide heat directly at the floor level saves the central heat from having to work as hard and ends up being both more efficient and more effective.I connect my rug warmers to smart plugs, which allows me to turn them on with a voice command for Siri/Alexa/Google and also allows for programming an automatic on/off schedule. This also allows me to position the control units under the couch or in locations that are hard to reach but also out of sight. On a final note, the company’s customer service is fantastic. The few occasions I’ve had to contact them, they’ve responded immediately and resolved my issues quickly and completely. They stand behind their product 100%. (You can find their contact info on their website.)If you’ve got a situation like mine, I highly recommend these rug warmers!

Good way to keep your feet warm
I live in an older home with no insulation under the floor. I had a carpet pad and carpet but my feet would still be cold. Adding the Hot Carpet was a nice addition to keeping warm on cold winter nights. It warms quickly. My updated wishes include the ability to heat the entire carpet and not just the left or right zine. I also hope the item can be redesigned to be more aligned with standard carpet sizes like 4x6 or 5x7.

Not warm.
It's a good size and good feel but it doesn't warm up well. Even after being on for 3 hours, it's barely above the room temperature. It claims to warm up to 115F but it doesn't get anywhere near that. Barely reaching 80F in a room that's 70F. Not worth the price for that result.

Good product but just give me a version with a low profile power cord
This item does what it supposed to do, but I have a few gripes. I should state that we also own a large RugBuddy heater for an area rug by our couch that I love. I purchased this for the area rug in our office and I went with the Woo Warmer simply because it was the only product I could find with dimensions that perfectly match our 6x6 office area rug. Most of my reservations are with the controller that's in the corner of the rug. First off, as you can see in the images, it raises the corner of the rug a bit. My personal preference would be to simply have a slim cord which would give me the control to decide how I want to power the rug. I would like to just plug the rug into a separate programmable thermostat and simply maintain a constant temperature in our office during work hours. The control unit on the Woo Warmer will shutoff after 6 hours of use, so this really isn't an option. Every time I come into the office I have to crawl under the desk and turn off the switch and then turn it back on and then wait for it too warm up the floor / room. Some people might like this option for energy saving purposes if their usage isn't consistent, but I'd rather just put it on a thermostat. The Woo Warmer control unit does have an option to turn on the entire rug or either half of the rug. This might be an interesting option in some use cases where you perhaps have half the rug under a desk and only want to heat the area by your feet. That said, I'm guessing most people will probably just power the entire rug. Another gripe is that the site says it's great for offices, but it doesn't mention that you shouldn't use office chairs with casters on the Woo Warmer! I'm doing that anyway and hoping for the best, but it would be nice if the product listing mentioned some of the usage restrictions that are provided on the instructions that ship with the product. All that said, I'm still happy with the product as I now have a rug warmer that fits perfectly under my office area rug by my desk and my feet are no longer freezing, I just have to keep on resetting the Woo Warmer every time I come into the office which is my main annoyance.

Turns off after 6 hrs
Works super great when it’s on. Unfortunately, it automatically turns off after just 6 hours. I’m not going to keep turning them back on every 6 hours. We put one in my son’s room because it gets really cold in there at night. It worked! Until it automatically turned off at 1am and he woke us up to tell us his room was cold again. These are great, really; but pointless if they don’t stay on for a reasonable amount of time, if not until turned off. I wouldn’t mind if the heat slowly pulsed on & off to give the circuit or whatever a break/let the floor cool down a bit (that’s what our reptile and dog/cat heat pads do). We bought two and are returning both.
