PEBEOVitrail, Set of 10 Assorted Stained Glass Effect Paints, 45 ml Bottles, 1.52 Fl Oz

After trying a sampler pack of various types of paints from Pebeo, I ordered these translucent paints. They are my favorite! I have tried another brand of glass stain but these are so much better! The colors are beautiful and rich. One coat is enough! Because they are oil based stains, they do have a strong smell that the water based paints don't so be aware of that. I keep a very small desk fan going nearby. Also like oil based stains, they can make a mess if you're not careful. I use mineral spirits to clean my brushes. The bottles are a good size and will last quite a while for normal size projects. Make sure you stir the paint quite well (but slowly so you don't get bubbles) because the color can settle to the bottom under the oil. Will order again!!

Love these paints. I tried them for the first time and the clarity is unreal! You only have to use a small amount to get your desired look.

Most colors extremely transparent. I would suggest the lightener for the darker colors like blue, green, and brown.

I liked these but the fumes are terrible. I would have to use a rebreather to use them and i don't care to do that. I prefer the acrylic porceline pens. I will be selling these. They gave me a bad headache just using rhem for a few minutes.

Pepeo glass painting products are hands down the very best glass paint you can buy. Beautiful color selection. Transparent making it appear as though the glass is actually colored. Hard to find depending on where you live. I started with a starter set and fell in love. I buy sets of vintage wine glasses and serving pieces at thrift shops. I wash them well and take special care with the cut design areas, using alcohol to be sure there is no dust or dirt that would cause problems. Then, I simply apply the desired color using very thin coats and let dry between layers. This is important, because if you apply too much at one time, it will run! I now own a bottle of just about every color. Don’t let the price deter you from purchasing theses paints. The jars are a good size and will go a long way! Tip: don’t leave the jars open for to long while working. The paint will thicken. For the same reason, I don’t pour the paint into a well. I use it from the cap or bottle, being careful not to contaminate or mix colors. I love working with this product.
