Good machine for the money
Bought this as I already have a pod of 2, 4 & 5AH batteries so it made sense to have. For the cost, it is a good machine and does the job just fine.A few things to note before buying…..1. The throw stalls at low OPM. I found that I had to run it at 7,500 all the time to avoid stalling. On completely flat surfaces, it doesn’t stall so much but as soon as you touch a contour it stalls. It never stopped spinning but it stopping throwing which increases the risk of burning the cars paint.2. It is quite heavy on batteries. I was using it for a paint correction on a whole Ford Focus MK3. I used 2 x 4AH batteries and 1 x 5AH. I managed to cut and polish the bonnet before a fully charged 4AH battery ran out of juice. I kept 2 batteries charging while 1 was in use so didn’t have issues with running out. If you don’t have any Ryobi batteries or you have lower AH, you may struggle.3. The supplied pads are not great quality. After around 1/3 of the car, the backing of both the cutting a polish pad came away from the foam which caused me to stop working on it.I ended up forking out £280 to buy the corded Meguire's MT320 which came with 3 Meguire's pads. I completed the car using the corded DA which is superior to the Ryobi unit but you would expect it to be for the price. So I’m summary - make sure you have 3 4 AH (minimum) if you plan on polishing a whole car and but a decent set of pads to use with it.I’m happy with it and will be using it for correcting every now and again but wouldn’t be my go for a full correction.

Another triumph by ryobi
I have to say that this range of tools for the home user are just great wide range all off the one battery - this was bought to prep a car for a show - which it won - it is like the rest of the range an honest hard working product and a great addition to the range

Brilliant!
Easy to use for short periods. I suggest old fogeys (like me) don't use them for more than 15 minutes at a time, to avoid wrist and finger joint discomfort. Easy enough to rest 10 between polish areas. Does a good job with the right quality sponges. After trial and error I probably wasted my money with Maguiars compound when there are better products like Autoglym Super Resin Polish, especially for ridged areas. Fine wire wool is also essential for ingrained dirt or areas needing small rust treatment, but carefully and after taping off surrounding area. End result: a gleaming car and large panel van!

Bit bulky
Bit bigger than expected, does the job but a smaller device would be more precise

Lasts ages on a 4amp battery
Brilliant and wish I’d bought this sooner.Super easy to use, low vibration, works with other brands of polishing pads and produces a nice finish
