Dang - it actually works!
I am addicted to good old fashioned military surplus 5 gallon metal jerry cans. I keep eight, what withtwo generators and a lawn tractor to feed. With the June 15, 2023 power outage here in Texas (windstorm), and two previous outages due to ice storms (February 2021 and again February 2022); my mother-in-law, my wife and my brother-in-law expressed their disdain for the weight of the full jerry cans in having to fuel up the generators. On top of that, my wife can't lift the jerry can to fuel our mower with the g. i. issue spout. We don't go through fuel to warrant a 75 gallon (or larger) pick up bed tank. I did some research on line, thinking I'd build a gravity feed system from a 55 gallon drum out of the back of a pickup or bench, but then someone would have to climb and fill the tank and the component would run about $300. Also, as the tank empties, it would have more air and allow more condensation thus compromising the fuel quality. Keeping full cans/ tanks reduces this drastically. Then my wife suggested several 2 1/2 gallon jugs, but again, she couldn't lift the 5 gallon jerry can to fill the 2 1/2 gallon jugs. She would need three jugs at least for a single generator fill up. So, that was out.More research and I found this transfer pump here on Amazon. I was skeptical, as it looks cheap. I carefully read the reviews, compared other brands; and bit the bullet on this one. Worse comes to worse, I'd send it back if it was bad quality or not up to snuff.I waited very impatiently for it to arrive to which it did today. I grabbed it out of the mailbox and ran to the fuel can rack, grabbed a full can and went to the mower. I filled the 1/2 full 4 gallon tractor tank with about 2 gallons in about a minute. No muss, no fuss, no drip, no noise.Went to the generator, stuck the transfer pump into the 1/2 full 6 gallon tank, and pumped those 3 gallons back into the jerry can, also in about a minute. Both transfers being filtered through a 50 micron filter funnel also sold here on Amazon. All I gotta say is WOW. This transfer pump really does make things easier. I was expecting a trickle through the hose, but this thing really fills up the transfer hose with some decent flow. It works and it works well.I might add a filter sock to the bottom pick up to prevent sucking up debris before the transfer, and eliminate the filter funnel. Now, all I have to do is seen how long this transfer pump lasts. So, my initial review is 5 stars across the board: fit, form, function, and value.

Very useful.
I bought this to fuel my boat from portable gas cans. I use 5 gallon and 14 gallon plastic cans. I had used the shaker style siphon hose in the past. They work well as long as you can support the can high enough. I found this challenging on the 14 gallon can. It runs quietly and moves fuel pretty quickly. Not fast, but fast enough. It gets almost all of the gas out too. It does have a keeper to hold the nozzle open. If you stop the pump like directed and drain the hose it is mostly a clean transfer. If you don’t stop the pump and remove the stem, you will make a mess.

This pump seems as good as it claims to be
I do a lot of lawn mowing and therefore I am frequently refueling the machines using large gas cans. The cans are typically heavy to use while targeting fuel fills without encountering some amount of spillage. But there just didnt seem to be a transfer device marketed that was well designed and offered at a decent price - until I found this one. This Deway model has a few features that made it the “best buy” for me. First - despite its shape reminding me of the old manual filler mechanism used for kerosene heaters in the 1980’s - it is perfectly designed for performing the task. The smooth business end that you insert into the source fuel can fit even my smaller diameter can opening - And being smooth - drips are minimal or absent altogether when withdrawing it from the can “post ops”.The larger sized “D” batteries used may seem strange but cause no cumbersome inconveniences whatsoever - and the pump motor is very quiet, adaquate, and even impressive in its performance. The stated 2.3 GPM rating meant little to me (since I dont really think in those terms) but when I used it the first time to fill my empty tank, (this particular mower holds 3 gal. of gas) I actually smiled when witnessing the results.I have a couple Hustler ZTR machines. One is commercial (used on larger property) and one is a smaller or “residential” mower (used at my home). The fuel filler neck on my home machine is set at an awkward angle to fill - even using a funnel or flexible spout on the fuel can. I love Hustler machines - but this is a true negative.Anyway - not only does this pump alleviate any positioning and spillage issues during refueling, its hose has a clip on the end that holds it in the tank fill neck - AS WELL AS an “auto shut-off” sensor to combat potential overfill spillages. The on/off switch is well placed on top of the unit, the hose is perfect length to “reach” - without being cumbersome to retract or store. And just as important to me - I was pleased with the speed of fill-up.I cant find anything negative to review as yet. My commercial grade machine carries 7.5 gallons on each fenderwell (x2) so it should be VERY appreciated “there” - as it is here at home.I highly recommend THIS unit from Deway. If you have been waiting for an affordable fuel transfer pump that seems a basic, super funcional, and fast enough to get er done without feeling like you are waiting - THIS IS IT.
