Blue Fox: Arm Assembly Internals and Reverse Engineering

Amazing book on assembly and reverse engineering -- no matter what your skill level is
This is a really incredible book. I've done assembly programming for many years and with various CPU families, and one thing that's been pretty consistent is that it's always hard to find a really good, readable starting point. That all changes, at least for Arm assembly. This book is incredibly readable. The introduction to asm and core concepts is the best I've ever seen. It dives into assembly pretty quickly, but in a way that won't overwhelm beginners—or bore experts. That's a really impressive feat of writing.Where this book really shines is its coverage of reverse engineering, a topic that's incredibly important but also mysterious and really hard to get started with. Until now. Blue Fox covers both practical, on-the-ground day-to-day work, combined with a really thorough coverage of theory. Honestly, I've never seen anything like this—it's really amazing to see this all in one place. This is a tough topic to teach, and Blue Fox teaches it really, really well.If you really want to give your development skills a real boost and thoroughly understand assembly and reverse engineering, do yourself a favor and get this book.

The best book for to learn Arm assembly
The book is a master piece! The detail and simplicity of the explanations and examples is exactly what I wish I had been given years ago when learning these topics on my own.She did an incredible job making it feel easy and intuitive. Worth every penny & honestly I would pay double what I paid for how good the content is! I waited over a year for this book & “exceeded my expectations” doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel about it. Thank you to the author for all the work & care out into this book! Can’t wait for your next book!

The knowledge transfer
Very well detailed, a lot of information saving me hours of research. Many years without writing at this programming level (I wrote my programs only in Assembler), and the next one was Fortran for engineering purposes.

Best intro to asm EVER! And more!
I have bought a number of book to try to get into reverse engineering. Sadly most of them lost me as soon as they get into assembly. They all expected you to be already quite familiar with assembly before you started, and there is often a gap there that makes it really confusing…No so much with this book. The intro is gentle and makes no assumptions about your level of familiarity with assembly. After a couple dozen pages, you really feel like the curtain is slowly being pulled away, and the mechanisms are revealed. The writing is excellent! When something is mentioned that may be a little advanced, there are mentions that tells you that further details are incoming later in the book.I’m only a few chapters in, but this is the best book about reverse engineering I have read! I’m excited by the prospect of the later chapters ‘to get my hands dirty’… and even more excited about the next book Maria has mentioned (Red Fox). This will end up prominently on my shelf, and I expect it will end up being a reference/classic book for years to come! This book is worth every penny!

Absolutely incredible
This book contains so much useful information for both developers and REs that it should be a staple in everyone's collection.Overall: 10/10 - I'm definitely ordering the Red edition of this book when it comes out.

Best arm training ive seen online, so it makes sense the book would also be amazing
I feel like if you've seen the training sites, and the labs that have been provided for years, you know what to expect from this book. Normally i'd have a comment about what was missing or what i would like to see more of from the book...but I can't find anything missing, if you're trying to learn arm or disassembly/reverse engineering...buy the book, you can't go wrong.

good intro
Author articulates many concepts clearly with charts and reproducible commands. This book is pretty well written but I'd wish there is more depth in some of the topics. This book will definitely get people started in RE but it might not provide much for seasoned engineers who wish to add a few things to their arsenal.

great book
as a FW developer and someone who has been working with ARM assembly and ARM instruction sets this is really a good help. looks like the book author really has command over how the ARM assembly works and what is the practical implementation in different use cases. really good read. recommended

Excellent!
I'm more into microcontrollers than embedded linux but after reading this book I understand the assembly code and can do some basic stuff on my microcontrollers.

Best written assembly book I have read
This is not just good, it is the best assembly book I have read for ARM, Intel and Motorola 68000 from back in the day.I would not have even know about it if ARM had not issued the takedown notices on the authors domains ahead of the IPO.Looking forward to the follow up Red Fox edition that is more focused on offensive security.
