This vacuum will suprize you when you first turn it on!
I received my new Prolux Tritan vacuum about and a half ago. Upon picking up the box I was thinking, oh man, this is awful light for a real house vacuum. But when I opened it up and started taking the parts out I was immediately impressed with the stem, fairly thick metal with a nice length adjustment mechanism (I'm 6-2), and the joining of the hose to machine and accessories, very clean and well thought out, and made. When I turned it on I was truly impressed, it actually has too much suction on high and IMMEDIATELY stuck to an oriental rug, picking it up! Then I realized that the only noise is suction noise, the unit is virtually silent compared to the Kenmore Elite I was replacing. More power, far less noise, rolls smoother and the suction at half speed still easily exceeds the Kenmore for half the price or less.I am impressed, and that's not easy. I can't speak on its life expectancy, but it feels like it's built to last. Also the cord return mechanism is robust, no need to help it along at all.If you're looking for a good quiet vacuum with a lot of power and a well designed filter bag and Hepa filter combo, the Prolux Tritan is a very strong American product, buy it!

Had it for a year - absolutely LOVE it
This vacuum has great suction for cleaning my hardwood floors & carpets! After a year of ownership I can strongly recommend this vacuum. I don't do a lot of these reviews, much less a 5-star, but this is really an excellent product which I use constantly. The HEPA bags catch pet hair/dander effectively and are a decent price. The bags also fit in properly and do not leak dust into the casing of the machine, leaving a mess to clean up. The cord retraction actually works better than any vacuum, hairdryer or appliance I've ever owned. The variety of attachments is really helpful. I love that there is a way to slide the vacuum's hose/sweeper head into a slot on the side of the machine for storage. The hose itself is strong - no sign of a crack or breakage even though I pull it around by the hose sometimes (my bad). The entire unit is very sturdy and looks a bit like the ultra expensive Miele.I can't say enough about how great this product is. I was NOT paid to write this - I came back after a year to write this so hopefully that tells you how impressed I am!

Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover
Ok. For me Dirt Devil’s cheap stick vacuum was too noisy. Bissell’s cheap stick vac was pretty good. Actually for the price it was darned good. I just can’t get used to bagless vacs. So I decided to try a more substantial bagged vac. Ergo PROLUX. The price seemed right (actually on the low side for bagless but hey who doesn’t want a bargain in these times?!?). It looked good when viewed two dimensionally. Mistake # 1 : looks can be deceiving +don’t judge a book by its cover! Arrived. Opened the box. It was all bright and shiny. Good. Right? But wait. Looking closer. Hmmmm … the so called ‘Turbo Head’! It has less bristles than my Granny had teeth at age 96. The bristles are spaced so far apart it invites hair, stray threads, etc. to be immediately entangled. Plus with so few bristles most likely only large particulars will be vacuumed up. Forget smaller particles and/or dust. My whisk broom can probably do better. The other large vacuum tool is a floor brush. It is a stretch to call this tool a ‘brush’. The bristles at extremely short and very, very, very stiff. More like a brush you could use to clean cement. There is a very picturesque brief manual. It does list in very clear terms ‘Safety Instructions’ … which I thought was very helpful. The instructions for use are succinct and to the point. Since I didn’t unpack anymore of the vac from the box I cannot tell you about the other smaller ancillary tools. Now for Mistake #2: I didn’t check the less than 3 star reviews. I know better. I just didn’t do it. As I said this is a pretty little vacuum cleaner. I’ve been vacuuming floors for over 50 years. I feel confident I can look at the tools, feel them and measure their effectiveness. The PROLUX tools don’t do it for me. I won’t use it. So maybe it all works even if the Turbo Head and floor brush look and feel less than stellar. I can’t say ‘yea’ or ‘nay’. I’ll be sending this back. I hope returns are easy. Problem #3: At my age … I’m a senior senior … getting the darned heavy box to my car, then unloading it and getting it to the return center. Problem #4: I didn’t check if this is a direct return to Amazon (usually easy peasy) or one of those more complicated returns to the manufacturer. Will I be more careful next time? Bet on it! Will I check with the Internet as to ‘best ratings for 2025’? This senior senior ‘can do’ and will. For now, as the younger generation often so realistically states, ‘It is what it is!’ Wish me luck on my journey to return this!
