Great real wood stand which took less than two minutes to set up. Peferct for my Gustav Messer and Kukri Thank You for your craftsmanship my blades appreciate it!

I just got this stand and in five minutes had it together. The solid wood pieces are very nicely shaped and finished. It has nice grain and really is a quality item. It goes together with screws and brass threaded inserts that make it sturdy yet easy to disassemble later on if you wish. An allen wrench is included. It is sanded very smooth and has a light oil finish that enhances the grain. I don't know what the wood is, but it is similar to American Cherry. I am super pleased with it for its good looks and at an exceptionally good price. I am using it free standing, but it can also be hung on a wall. I'm impressed!

First and foremost I like this stand, it's as depicted with beautiful wood and once properly assembled handsome. I must be mechanically challenged as I made every mistake possible assembling. The countersunk holes go to the outside (duh), the ends have a left and right and don't rely on just snugging up the screws to align things. And once you've got it together the backside will not be a flush fit. I won't attempt to step by step (I thinking it should have come with instructions, even a modicom might have helped but no) but offer this brief suggestion. Don't cinch the screws down as you go, leave them a little loose as you'll have to tweak everything to get it symetrical. especially the ends to the base. I'm guessing the manufacturing people likely appreciate this and get an occasional snicker from it.

I love it, but the rack is a bit narrow. However, the real issue is that the width center to center of the mounting holes is 12 3/8" or 315mm. Neither number is convenient or fun to work with during installation.

Update: Mythrojan reached out to me and acknowledged a varnish issue that they plan to resolve. They gave me a full refund and assured me that the product varnish quality will soon improve. This makes their customer service 5 star level of quality, but the current state of the product, makes it a 4 star level experience. When the product is improved, I will buy and update the review to reflect this.The varnish is not smooth. In some places it's barely present and in other places it has dried in blobs and drips That is the front of the front side of the stand. The back is much worse, but no one really sees that when it's hanging, so that's not really an issueThere are 2 weird circles in the front that look like they were caused either by drilling errors or knots in the wood (have to sand off the varnish and stain blobs to find out.The only saving grace for this stand is it is solid wood. The varniah can be sanded and reapplied.The stand should just be sold unstained and unvarnished for $15 dollars less.
