I purchased this text because I have a copy of the 3rd edition and wanted to update my references. I teach in a nursing program and like to use the case studies to augment lecture. A change from the 3rd edition is the revision/streamling of invasive monitoring. It was great info and very well explained but probably beyond the scope of the student/new grad.This text is easy to read. The author takes material that is often difficult for the student to grasp and presents it in an understandable format. Great reference!

This book was recommended to me on a nursing blog, and it has become my favorite sidekick. I use it for personal review as well as an extra resource for new nurses orienting on the unit.

This book is an easy read with a ton of information on relevant topics. I would recommend it to all nurses as a reference regardless of where you are in your career.

I was pleased to see that there was a updated version of Metheney. It is a classic and invaluable for both practice and to assist me in writing lectures about F&E as a faculty member.

very good book. Well structured, well organized. Has nice illustrations and useful tables. Great for the non-physician professional who wants to understand the mysteries of the fluids and electrolytes!

Helps to get your head around what you are learning. easier to read than some other text books. a must for students
