Easy fit, durable, simple design - It Just Works.
If you're a bike commuter in colder climates, this Leg Shield is a must buy. I bought it not to protect my pants so much as to avoid having to keep rolling my pants up. I rolled my pants all summer/fall, but once it started getting colder, my ankles would freeze! Bought this thing and now I don't have to roll my pants at all because this covers the pant cuff so it doesn't get ripped up by the pedal crank/sprocket/cassette. I have between 5-15 minute commute and the pants only wrinkle marginally. This is very warm, so I'm not sure I'd want to wear it in warm weather, but for cold weather it cannot be beat. There's nothing on the market like it. Seems very durable, I have no concerns about it holding up for at least this whole winter season in daily use. I bought the black version and it looks exactly like the picture - no trickery there. Size wise, I have gigantic calves because I don't have a car and bike everywhere. I'm also "big-boned" and this fits fine with plenty of room to spare. It would also fit a smaller leg if you've got a more slender body than I have because the velcro bands cover the full width of the thing. Really a terrific/simple design through and through. Best $15 I've spent in a long time.

Does what it claims as long as you are not fashion conscious.
OK, the Leg Shield is not going to win you style points. When wearing it, I get questions from coworkers and family -- another weapon to inadvertently (or not) embarrass your offspring. And I purchased the solid black version, so double the green/yellow version. That all said, it works as advertised. Superbly so, at that. I have used it for several months as part of commuting kit, through heat, cold, and rain. And it plain works to protect your pants from damage and grease. I consider it a safety device as much as a pants protector, as getting your pants caught in a chainring or crank can cause a loss of control (I've done it). Since wearing it, I have not had grease stains or catches occur, so it has definitely earned its place in my kit.The three Velcro tabs hold it firmly in place and it has ample coverage. Yes, it will wrinkle your pants if commuting in work trousers; my solution is to carry my work clothes in a pannier, as I never know what else I will encounter on the ride in to work. I wear it over dedicated nylon, quick dry pants (covering winter layer tights when cold) and it really keeps the thin, floating nylon from snagging. It will get sweaty, being neoprene and I wish it had some reflective patches on it (like the leg bands by the same company, which I use on my left leg), but is otherwise perfect. I considered the neon colored version, but decided to pass, since I am sure it would end up a dingy neon after some use.A tip to putting them on is to kneel down when fastening to your calves, that way it mirrors where your pants will be when peddling (also a good time to check your shoe laces, another point of danger with chain rings and cranks!Highly recommended.

Love the leg shield
I had actually never heard of this product but I went to Amazon searching for a solution. This turned out to be the exact thing I was looking for.I have a bike with no chain guard and my pants are perpetually getting caught in the chain or greasing up on my gear/chain. So I've ruined many pairs of pants and had the unpleasant feeling of getting caught in my own chain. Well NO MORE!!! This product is great I've been using it for a few months now and it does the trick. Fast on Fast off. Quickly gets my pants out of the way for a safer more pleasant ride with no ruined pants. Most likely I won't be using this come summer once I'm in shorts but I will continue to use it for every ride during pants season until it wears out - and so far it shows no wear so hopefully it won't be for a while.

Satisfied
Satisfied with product. Price went up almost a dollar in a couple of months. Only one is provided as opposed to a pair.

Protect your pants! Way better than the 'tuck' and/or bungee wrap!
Update: I was contacted by the company (Mark), and he sent me a new protector. I really like the product and this kind of outstanding customer service should be rewarded... 5 stars!!! Thanks so much for an excellent product and excellent customer service! My previous four star review: I really like this thing. Especially in colder weather (less than 15 C or so), I prefer to bike in pants (typically jeans). If you can related, you've undoubtedly tried the 'sock tuck' or the 'small bungee wrap' or similar. All of these methods are superior to having your pant cuff munched by the chain, but not by much. This thing is great! It takes slightly more work to get on, but provides an amazing amount of protection, not only from the chain, but from splash and other crap as well. It's also somewhat funny as clearly many people think it's a cast of some sort. I've accidentally left it on a few times and am approached by folks asking what happened to my leg. One negative is the durability. After only a couple of weeks, the reflective stripes have begun to peel off and the top of the velco straps is also showing wear. But overall, I like this thing.Pros: Protects pants, very bright - adds visibility. Comfortable.Cons: Durability - as mentioned above, reflective stripes are coming off, velcro is showing signs of wear. Takes a little extra effort to put on.Summary: if you bike in pants (especially nice ones), you should buy this. And if you really do bike in nice pants, you might want to buy two - one for each leg.

Best leg shields for the money
This is my second pair of these as I need a clean pair at all times. I wasn't wearing these when I took all the hide off my shins. Sure wish I had them on. They have saved me from several bagged up shins. I recommend these for anywhere you may do damage to your shins. I were them when I go to Supply stores and nobody says a thing other than "Gee I need to get a set of those".
