Swix Base-Side Dual Edger Ski Snowboard Tool with Metal File 9 Angles

Really useful tool for your “amateurish”, quick tune of your skis. So easy to use. Only thing, be gentle, because the file eats up your edges pretty quickly.

Spent more for this due to the name and was disappointed. Overall construction was subpar and the functionality is so so. Ended up buying one of the other brands on here for less and much happier with the result.

Bought 6 different sharpen tool from both Toko and Swix (all pricier than this one), yet this is the only one that does not scratch the painted portion on my ski sides/walls and only affects the metal blade. Great!

When sharpening a few sets of skis, this tool is all you'll need. I usually tune 2-3 times a season, and this tool is perfect. I also follow it with a 400 grit diamond file which can be inserted in place of the coarser grit file included.

The instruction photographs seemed clear enough until you have to figure out how to move the file blade. Once figured out, it's easy to do and remember.

I’m still learning to tune my own skis and snowboards this season, and this tool handles much, much better than that cheap $30 four-angle tuner. You can insert the included file to tune both the base and side edges (with caution), but I highly recommend you purchase some compatible diamond stones (DMT multi-pack at a budget, or Swix ones for better results) to accompany this tool. Diamond stones will be much more gentle on the edge and will give much better polishing results compared to using the file.

ベースもサイドも削れるので購入しましたが、均一にひかないと波打ちます。ある程度の経験と技術がある方向けかと。もしくは軽い趣味程度で自分で触りたい方にはいいと思いますが、レーサーはチューナーに任せた方がいいかと思います。

Finaly, a pocket tool that works for both side AND base edges.

ベベルを研磨する時、ファイルがソール面に当たります。したがって、エッジ+ソール面を数ミリ削ってしまいます。ファイルがもう少し控えめにセットできれば、こうはならないと思います。

(1) The file included just isn't very sharp.(2) The base that adjusts the angle has a small wobble in it that gets the base bevel and side bevel out of spec. When I dialed a 1 degree edge, I actually got a 0.75 degree edge. Bad.(3) The overall quality just seems dubious.I'm disappointed since I spent extra $$$$ for the SWIX brand name and this tool appears sub standard for the money.
