Great Purchase!
I bought this lens for my Canon EOS Rebel T3 with the Canon EF version. I am very impressed. I only have a normal 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens for my camera. I wanted to get farther shots, so I researched a little. I was conflicted because there were some lenses that were thousands of dollars, and some, like this one, that are very nicely priced compared to those. I bought it to see how it would work out. Please Note: I am not an advanced photographer, so I don't know a lot of technical terms. Also, I just got this lens the day I am posting this. I might have more to add to this review later. What is included in the Canon EF:- 500/1000mm lens- Blow thingie (I don't know what it's called) This cleans off dust from the lens- Plastic pen that has a brush side and a smooth, foamy side This cleans the lens, too- 2 Microfiber cleaning cloths- T Mount Adapter This connects the camera to the lens- 2.0x Teleconverter This is connected to the lens to switch it from 500mm to 1000mm- Hard Tulip Lens Hood This is added to the end of the lens to protect it and to keep glare away- UV Filter This protects the lens from scratches and eliminates ultraviolet rays to make sharper picturesThis kit is really awesome. I didn't expect all of the little goodies, so it was a nice surprise.About the Lens:The lens is great. It is manual, so it is time for me to improve in that area. It is sensitive to light. Bright and sunny days are great because this lens provides fast response. It is slower in darker areas, so a tripod would be very useful at those times. If you like to vary your distances for shots, this lens only has a 500mm and 1000mm setting. There isn't an in between, so please be aware of that. All in all, for only about $100, I feel like this was an awesome deal. I am very happy with my purchase. For the two pictures attached, they were both taken with the 2.0x converter.

Nice lens for the money
I received this lens on time, well packaged and damage free. I am new to photography and wanted a telephoto lens for taking pictures of the moon, birds, ect. I didn't want to spend a ton of money yet. The day I received it, I took it down to one of the docks to try it out. It fit my new Canon EOS rebel T6 with no problems. I mounted the lens to an old tripod that I use for a spotting scope. Again, no issues. I manually focused on a juvenile eagle sitting on a pole several hundred yards away. I used a remote shutter to ensure the camera remained still and shot a few pic's I'm not disappointed with the pictures considering the distance. I'm sure as I gain experience my pictures will improve. I've attached three pictures. The first is with a Canon EFS 18-55, the second is the 500mm lens, the third is with the 1000mm adapter.

A fun lens for the price.
I was pretty impressed with how well this lens worked (considering its low price). I am sure pros will scoff, but i was able to snap some good moon shots with this lens. Make sure you have a good quality tripod though. Five stars is because its a good value. If you're looking for a pro quality lens for $100 then you'll be disappointed. If you want to have fun and play around with a long lens without spending thousands of dollars then this is for you. I've used it on both my Canon film SLR and my DLSR.

Fun and works decent for the price.
I am actually having fun with this. For the price, you can't expect National Geographic quality photographs. The further away the subject, the better the results. The manual focus is difficult to get spot on. Trial and error for me on the manual f/stop, ISO and shutter speeds, but also kind fun to play with. For stationary subjects, a tripod is a necessity and I use the 10 second timer, otherwise pushing the shutter button causes movement and blurry results. I did get some decent images following a moving boat while handheld.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this lens. I ...
I was very pleasantly surprised with this lens. I am an amateur photographer and wanted to take some photos of the moon at night. I took it out the first night I received it, and was impressed with the sturdiness of the build as it is built of all metal. It fits to the camera with a converter and mounts to the tripod on the lens (which is well balanced with both just the lens and the 2x adapter). The lens and camera fit strongly together and I do not have any fears of the camera falling off the lens while mounted. When I aimed at the moon the 2x adapter puts the moon as a full shot in the frame, remember this is a fixed 500mm lens with a 2x adapter so you can't zoom in and out. I look forward to using this lens more in the future.

Broke in a day
Received and opened the box and was pleasantly surprised at the start. Attached it to my camera Canon T3i and was ready to see what it had. At first, I wasn't sure if the aperture setting and open and close ring were working properly as they were turning with the slightest touch, but I started taking pics to get used to it. Snapped a few pics and focused on different subjects at varied distances. It seemed to be doing ok, then the zoom ring locked and I couldn't turn it to focus. Unfortunately, I had to send it back and will continue to search.

Manual focus with Cheap lens
I love to practice with manual focus. quality is ok for the price since I do not want to spend too much money for 1000 mm lens.
