My hairdresser highly recommended this Kerastase Elixir leave-in conditioner for my dry and color processed hair. She promised that I would love the smooth and shiny results, and that I would love it, and she was right, because I do.As a reference, I have thick and coarse-textured hair, it’s chemically color processed once a month. After shampooing and a normal blow-dry it has a dry and straw-like frizzy appearance and due to dry air static, it’s unmanageable.The Kerastase Elixir is a conditioning hair serum, and it offers the versatility for both wet hair after shampooing, or after my hair is dry. Although, I use it on wet hair and right after my shampoo, I’ve used in between times, especially in the winter months when our home heating dries out my skin and hair. Our dry heat causes static and my flyaway hair shorter sections stick up and out in a frazzled and strange way. Therefore, I use the serum to moisturize my hair when it gets a little out of control and it controls those shorter hairs that stick out, along with smoothing out my frizzy dry hair ends.The Kerastase Elixir is a leave-in conditioner, with a blend of different plant oils• Corn germ oil• Argan oil• Camellia OilThese nutrient oils provide a conditioning softness, and suppleness, which helps my hair retain its moisture.It comes in a glass bottle with a pump applicator and I like that the pump locks securely when twisted to the side, which protects against any wasteful spillage.The Kerastase Elixir is a clear serum with a medium thick consistency and it has a very light and pretty scent. It is also concentrated and therefore it just takes a very small amount to work its magic. My hair is long and thick and about 5” past my shoulder, and I only need two pumps (each a dime sized amount), for a single treatment.After shampooing and using a towel to blot off any excess oil, I twice pump a dime-sized amount in my hands and rub them together. I apply this serum elixir to my hair while it’s still wet, and work it through my hair with my hands and fingers. The serum is a very lightweight oil, and therefore I don’t have to worry, this small amount does NOT weigh down my hair, not even at the top. Then I use my wide-toothed comb to comb the serum evenly through my hair.The Kerastase Elixir helps to detangle my hair, which mats after shampooing, and the comb glides removing the knots and snarls and without any hair breakage.It takes me about half as long to dry my hair due to the lightweight serum, and I receive some excellent results. This makes my hair very easy to manage and it provides some volume, soft feeling hair, and a smooth healthy clean luster from my crown down to the ends. In addition, this serum removes all the frizz and these results generally last until my next shampoo.Previously, I had always bought this directly from my hairdresser’s salon, but I saw this same exact product on Amazon for 35% less. I decided to order the one from Amazon and compare it to the one that I have on hand from my hairdresser and the product is the same. The glass bottle containers are identical, the thickness, color and consistency of the elixir are both alike, and they both have the same precise light, pretty scent. In addition, my results after using are the same and therefore I’m pretty well convinced that this Kerastase Elixir is authentic and I love this lower price.

Potential buyers beware - the product featured on this page is not the real, authentic Kerastase product! It was not until I purchased the actual Kerastaste oil from an authorized Kerastaste retailer and compared it to the product that I bought on this page that I realized that the product sold on this page is in fact fake.I ordered the product on this page several months ago. When I received the product, it was in an unmarked box within the shipment box, the label was placed very crookedly onto the bottle, and the product itself had no scent to it. I have read the product reviews before ordering the product and saw that other customers had similar experiences upon receiving the product and I choose to overlook the box, label, and lack of scent. However, I should have taken these three things as indicators that this was a fake product.I did incorporate the product into my daily hair care routine and to be honest, did not notice too much of a difference to previously not using any hair oil. If anything, the product made my hair slightly softer but nothing to rave about. I did continue to use the product on a daily basis simply out of habit. Nothing about the product really wowed me though.I was running short on the product and coming to the point where I was getting ready to order another bottle. Coincidentally, I went to my salon to get my haircut recently and they do sell authentic Kerastase products there. For the sake of convenience, I decided to purchase the Kerastase oil at my salon after my haircut so that I would have more oil ready to use when the bottle of this product that I ordered on Amazon was officially out.It was when I opened the bottle of Kerastase oil that I purchased in-person at my salon that I realized the product that I ordered on this page and had been using was fake. The authentic Kerastase oil that I purchased in-person has a strong, pleasant odor to it, makes my hair silky smooth, and leaves a long-lasting shiny effect. It truly is a night-and-day difference how much better the actual Kerastase product is compared to the fake product sold on this page.If you are looking for the authentic Kerastase hair oil, please do not order the product sold on this page! It's so much more worth it to spend a bit more money elsewhere to ensure that you ordering the genuine Kerastase oil as opposed to trying to save a few dollars to receive the fake product sold here. The real product is incredible and you will truly be wowed by it as opposed to being very disappointed and underwhelmed by the very product sold on this page.

I loved it

Okay so this is seriously the most magical potion in the entire world. I have super mega curly, coarse, dry, damaged (if you know more adjectives for pretty much trash hmu) hair which I flat iron all the time cause trash. I also bleach it cause ya know, it’s a look, so extra fried it is. It’s pretty much top ramen when I get out of the shower. But anyway I got home and saw that my package had come in the mail so of course I had to try it even though I figured adding extra oil to my three-days-since-last-washed hair would make it greasy but whatevs, ya girl can always use extra oils since my body doesn’t know what that is. But no. I put this stuff in my hair and it was instantly the shiniest softest thing I have ever touched/ seen in my life. Buy it. Buy this stuff in bulk and never let yourself run out. Seriously I think Rumpelstiltskin invented Kerastase Elixer Ultime because this stuff spun straw into gold and I have never felt more alive. Stuff is fire.

Completely fake! Have been using the same elixer I for years and when I asked for a refund I was not helped. The bottle and design is different, the way the pump works is different , it doesn’t even smell the same and the consistency of the oil is cheap. My own fault I won’t be buying beauty products from amazon again.

I don't know what makes Kérastase oil better than other ones but it leaves my hair in such lovely condition. I have long, thick, dry, wavy hair which is unruly due to years of highlighting. Whenever I think I'll save some money and get a cheaper oil or try something different, I end up regretting it and going back to this Kérastase one.It makes my hair so much softer and more manageable as well as smelling divine.

i used to buy this ages ago in a salon and it’s used to be very good but i think the company that produces this has changed the formula or something as it didn’t do anything for me i won’t be buying this again

This is the best serum I have ever bought, the cheaper ones are nowhere near as good as this. I ran out of it for a couple of months and couldn't work out why my hair looked in such bad condition. After buying it again my hair has been transformed again! Brilliant product, makes hair so shiny, and smells lovely too.

I have heavily bleached hair that I've been ruining for about 10 years on and off with chemicals and this is one of my beauty cupboard staples ! While it will not restore chemically treated hair to the same condition as virgin hair, I find that it helps keep my hair supple and soft and gives it a nice smoothness after drying. I use on towel dried hair after shampooing and conditioning and wouldn't be without it !! NB: a little goes a long way with this serum ! The last bottle I bought lasted me over a year and a half and I wash my hair frequently, so although the outlay is expensive, you get your moneys worth ! Highly recommended !
