Reduces fall risk, improves posture, outstanding for seniors!
These are the safest seniors’ shoes I’ve ever worn! Its feet-to-ground-sensitivity, the resulting enhanced posture alignment, the stretch of calf and thigh, the tighter shoe-to-foot encasement; all these features combined make this a rare shoe for seniors’ fall prevention or self defense. As I’ve grown older, my legs weakened, worsening bad posture and muscle-tightening. Though marketed for athletic purposes, below Whitins help with body’s reactions to weaker legs and will likely help prevent falls. How Whitin does this are:1. Enhanced foot sensitivity to ground by:Flat shoe so that the entire foot feels the ground. Inclined shoes feels moreso on the front part of foot, reducing back of foot’s role in balancing. Its thin shoe sole that compresses, yet is not too stiff (ouch) or soft (wobbly). This thin sole further helps with the above ground sensitivity feature.Flat shoe, instead of inclined shoes that facilitates body’s balancing2. Wider front part of shoe.. As we grow older, feet tend to spread out, creating wider front part of foot. The wider design here enable for tighter foot-shoe encasement, so that the shoe and foot better operate as one unit, when balancing on irregular surfaces.3. Excellent grip soles.4. Flat footbed continually stretches tightened calf and back of thigh. Muscle stiffness cause slower-response, leading to falls.4. Flat shoe that allows for natural postural balancing.6. Light in weight.7. Sole bends easily– reduces foot fatigueWhat if I had to run to escape or defend from attack? In other shoes, I fear slippage or insufficient leg power. Not with these Whitins.Comes with far better-than-average, rubbery, ⅛ inch thick insole. Removed these and used instead arched insoles. Would I use Whitins for running? Unlikely, because, inclined athletic shoes usually have more sole cushioning to protect knees against pounding cement.Whitin has several models of confusing-same-named “barefoot, wide-toe shoes.” It would be great, if Whitin gives a model name to these. Below compares the ones I’ve tried.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C73BLDFH Its mesh is more insulated, warmer, and this shoe is more useful in cooler weather.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J7YDBR7 has extensive mesh and is the most breathable. Best for hot weather.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJQSTJMR has an unusual breathable fabric that’s almost as cool as mesh, and has velcro-clasp that saves time in putting on shoes. In the past 10 years, I’ve purchased over 50 pairs of shoes, trying to find a decent pair for my wide, irregular feet. These are the best, by far, when personal safety is involved and one’s legs have weakened.

It's like being barefoot but with an arch support
I have what my wife calls Fred Flintstone feet. Most shoes do not fit well. A friend suggested I try some of these shoes.I decided to get the zero drop style shoes and I have been wearing them exclusively since they arrived. Here are my thoughts. Pain and tingling in my feet, has almost disappeared I believe that this is a result of my feet fitting comfortably in the shoes. The zero drop sole, has made me feel like I am barefoot with an arch support. I had to wear an ankle compressor. I have not needed it at all for the last week. I also have minor issues with my hip flexor, likely caused from form issues playing disc golf. My hips feel more properly aligned now because my feel are at an equal position.I have so far worn these for general wear. For working out and for playing Disc Golf. In each instance I feel more assured in my step and have had less pain than I get from my Nike air, shoes. When I play Disc Golf it is generally in the woods in all types of terrain conditions and so far I have had no issues. If you have wider feet, these are a dream.Sizing: this is important. I wear a 9.5 generally in most shoes. The listing suggested buying at 1 size smaller in this case. I ignored that and pur based a size 10. This turned out to be the correct decision because the size 10 actually fits perfectly. The build quality of the shoe is actually great. Traction is solid but do not recommend playing Disc golf post rain in these. They are not waterproof and also will slip on the concrete pad which could lead to injury.Negatives: for Disc golf, I have a few friends who wear these and they said that 4-6 months of regular play will be the limit for these, so I plan on ordering a couple pairs I would like to see a tougher layer of rubber on the front inside of the foor up around the first two toes, be cause when teeing off on the concrete pads, your toe on the back foot tends to drag. This eats up the sole leading to the shorter lifespan of the shoe.Other than that, I am a fan.

Almost of 10/10 expierence!
A solid 9/10 expierence. Been wearing these all week, and they are the first shoes that haven't caused me to have sore feet after working 8-10 hour days. The only thing holding these back from a 5/5 rating....is the left shoe, the material on the inside, where the sole of my foot goes, is already peeling up, which just started today and is very uncomfortable. I've only been wearing these for four days. So that's disappointing. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend!

The best shoes I've ever owned. Especially great for extra wide feet.
My last pair lasted me about 2 years as my daily shoes, which is about 2-3x longer than most shoes I've ever worn. I love these shoes. I had plantar fasciitis before I started wearing these, after a few months I no longer had any plantar fasciitis pain and my arch was noticeably stronger. I wear a men's 12.5 extra wide and for 15 years I had to buy 13's for the extra width. Now I can wear my proper shoe size and my toes are no longer smashed together. I went through 2-3 inserts in my last pair of these and I finally replaced them because the rubber on the bottom ball of the shoe was starting to wear thin. The seams are still fully intact 2 years later which for me is unheard of, I used to tear out the seams or separate the sole of the shoe within 3-6 months on almost every shoe ive worn except these. The only caveats with these is because theres practically no padding, stepping on a sharp rock can still be unpleasant. Also, walking around an amusement park for 8-10 hours will make you more sore than usual. In the winter in the Midwest US they of course dont keep your feet warm when it drops below 20F. However, for daily use i can't recommend them enough. 10/10 these are the best shoes I've ever owned bar none.
