Amazing quality for the price.
I was really impressed with these. I have bought these twice so far. Once to make vanilla extract, and once to cook with.you get a lot of really good quality vanilla beans for the cost which is amazing. These are not at all dried out or desiccated in any way. they are soft, pliable, moist and they smell phenomenal. I really enjoy the taste of them in cakes and whipped cream. I have already repurchased and I have no doubt I will again

Excellent beans for extract
I got these to make homemade vanilla extract. Be sure to order them many months ahead of when you will need the vanilla. I slit them in half and dropped several in a glass jar and filled it up with rum. I gave them out for Christmas gifts and received lots of compliments. They have created a nice dark brown vanilla that is full of flavor and is high-quality.

Great beans for making extracts
These are lovely Madagascar vanilla beans, the crème de la crème of vanilla beans and the most desired for extracts. With their lower moisture content than Grade A beans, they are perfect for extract since your extract liquid (in our case vodka) won't have to work as hard to pull the essence out. When I received the package, as soon as I opened the box, I could smell the beans aroma, even though they were vacuum packed. Once the package was opened I counted them out (26 as advertised) weighed them (1.6 ounces) and started the process of bottling them. Please note that these beans are drier than Grade A beans and as such, it is not recommended to split them to scrape the "caviar" (seeds) out. Instead, cut them in half before you place them in the bottle. I recommend Boston Round bottles in amber to help block the light so that the extract won't lose it's potency. If you want the caviar, then I recommend you spend a few bucks more to buy the Grade A beans.Once you have them in the bottle, cover them with your alcohol of choice. I used 80 proof vodka, but you can also use rum, whiskey or pure grain alcohol mixed with distilled water to 40 percent strength. The flavor of the final product will be different if you use rum or whiskey. After you have your bottles sealed, cap them and put them up in a cool dark place. It is recommended to let shake the bottles every 3-5 days until they are at the desired strength. Please note that this is NOT an instant gratification product. The longer they stay in the liquid, the better the flavor will be. I used Madagascar beans last spring for sale this fall with a one year aging process, and I have to admit that the wait was worth it. The aroma and flavor is so much better than commercial vanilla products. and much more economical as well per ounce.I will be ordering some more next month so that I can start a batch every month. I always sell out of the vanilla each year and with these beans, I expect to do so next year as well.5 starsJPL

Fragrant! But Smaller.
UPDATED EDIT - the seller ensured customer satisfaction by replacing the original package, which had contained bean pods that were quite tiny (see photo) by sending a replacement package. The 2nd package contained bean pods of similar size/length, there were obvious seeds when cutting them to use, and I am happy!!!Beans are smaller than expected. Contacted the seller who explained they send smaller beans in this package. They did state they would send additional beans when I shared the photo with them. The larger bean in the photo was the largest in the package. The one next to it, the thin one and about 30% were the thin pods. The shortest one, I had cut about 1/2" off the end. I think my package might have been an anomaly. They were very fragrant so I have used them.

As described and good for extract purposes.
These were a good buy for the price. The beans were definitely grade B as described. The beans were small and thin with little to no caviar. If you're looking for beans to scrape caviar from, these are not those beans. That said they were also soft and flexible, not dry and brittle as some grade B beans I have received from other sellers. They had a nice odor, although it was not too strong and not as floral as hoped for with Tahitian beans. Package was vacuum sealed on arrival and no mold. I was looking for extract beans so these suited their intended use for me.Kudos to the Amazon driver who delivered these beans! It was Very windy the day these came and the Amazon driver was thoughtful and put this very light package under my heavy outside doormat so they didn't blow away. Great service!

These vanilla beans arrived vacuum-sealed and super fresh! As soon as I opened the package, the rich vanilla aroma was amazing. The beans were soft, oily, and full of seeds—exactly what you want for making homemade vanilla extract. Great quality and packaging.
