Alows me to use what I already have.
A friend gave me an M18 oscillating tool, knowing I used Milwaukee and Dewalt. But he didn't know the only Milwaukee I own is M12. Ordered this to use my dewalt batteries with the tool, and it works great!Cons - makes the tool slightly longer, but not much.Pros - allows me to use what I already have instead of buying the most expensive part of any power tool, the batteries and charger.Saw some reviews that it didn't hold onto the tool very well. But after a few weeks of use, thankfully I have not had that issue. I have a wood shop and am not a contractor so while I do use it weekly, it isn't used as hard as some might.

Use your Dewalt batteries in Milwaukee M18 tools with this adapter.
I just picked up two tools, a chainsaw and a tiller, that use Milwaukee M18 batteries. I only have 1 M18 and I ordered this adapter to utilize my Dewalt batteries. I just love it when a plan comes together. This adapter worked perfectly and now I can use my Dewalt batteries to power both tools. Just slip it into the M18 battery port and then attach your Dewalt battery to the adapter. Couldn't be much easier. Adapter looks to be very good quality. Solid, finished well, and again, everything fits perfectly. I'm buying another and saving my M18 for my Milwaukee hand tools.

You Get What You Pay For, And That’s Okay!
If you’re going into the world of power tool battery adapters, you need to be prepared for jank and jerry-rigging. Do not expect a polished product that connects perfectly to everything because that would require actual official licensing from the tool manufacturers - which they would never do for a number of reasons. Know these are stop-gap solutions. If you’re buying one you should have specific application in mind, instead of trying to make it a pivot point of your tool collection.Things like build quality, durability, function, and reliability are fair game for review, but I’m not gonna dock this thing points for being a cheap Amazon product because that’s what it is.That being said, here are my thoughts.Quick summary:It definitely works! It is able to deliver power effectively, and in my experience so far (about a month) it is capable of shutting off when the battery is low. The main issue I ran into was the design/shape not allowing medium-to large sized batteries to fit some devices. Easily disassembled though if you’re willing to try and fix that yourself. It’s not very sturdy - the cheap plastic can easily break, so I wouldn’t recommend it in a setting where it could get thrown around, bumped, dropped, or hit. If that’s a deal breaker for you, I’m not sure there even are any battery adapters that can take a beating.More details:The battery slides into the adapter in the opposite direction that the adapter slides into the tool. This means that for certain devices (IE their vacuums, or anything with a battery compartment) the end of the Dewalt battery will be sticking out too far to fit.The soft, fragile plastic of this adapter becomes a strength here, as it’s super easy to take the adapter apart, flip the direction of the connectors, and close it back together. I used a utility knife and some Sugru (moldable silicone rubber) to reshape this thing and make it fit for my needs. I also think adding the Sugru probably made it more durable. We’ll see how it holds up over time.I’m not sure how the “protection circuit board” works, as the Dewalt battery only connects to 2 pins, but the Milwaukee connects to multiple. I forgot to note where these connect on the circuit board. Wire gauge looked pretty thick from what I could tell but I didn’t confirm what it was.

Smart ideas
This item is awesome. I just recently bought some Milwaukee tools. And then I found a deal at rural king for a Milwaukee leaf blower. For cheap. But it was tool only. I have only one milw battery. So I bought this adapter for some DeWalt batteries I had . I have a bunch. And this adapter allowed me to use those on all my Milwaukee tools. Wth. Now I have like six batteries that. Work on all my tools. That what I call a budget solution

False advertising
At least it was only $10 but item did not work as advertised I needed it to work for DeWalt impact with a Milwaukee battery in it as advertised but this is not the case it is for Milwaukee with a dewalt battery

Great Adapter
I purchased this because all my batteries are Dewalt and I purchased a Milwaukee tripod Floor spotlight. This is so much cheaper than actually having to buy an expensive Milwaukee battery. They only con is that you can’t use a nine amp hour Dewalt battery because it won’t fit in the hole where the battery goes. The combination height of the nine amp hour battery and the adapter make it too tall to fit in the hole.
