Nearly useless
I wanted to believe this product would work. I stirred with both a stick to scrape the bottom as well as with a powered tool. The paint became smooth and not too hard to apply though it does make a mess. After 4 coats, it was clear the product would not work and the increase in strength is predictably incremental as the amount of iron deposited is simply the amount of paint used. As others have noted, the finish as it dries is quite rough and uneven to the extent that sanding (self-defeating) is required and it's doubtful 2 coats of standard paint would cover it. More fatally, the magnetic receptiveness is so pathetic that even multiple strong rare-earth neodymium magnets can only slightly attract its own weight. Using it to hold something up would be hopeless. I am directly comparing the performance of this to how the same magnets react to standard sheet metal (A+) to this product (D-).

Worked like a charm but not super easy to use
I bought this because I wanted to magnetize a wall in my kitchen and put magnets from our travels on it. I had read online that in order to get maximum magnetization, it's best to use 5 coats. I bought 2 cans and just barely got the 5 coats out of it. When I opened both cans, the paint was separated - watery on top and thick and clumpy on the bottom. So clumpy that a regular paint stir stick wasn't doing the job to mix it. I had to use a small hand mixer. Took some time but eventually it mixed it all together to a smooth texture. Paint covers well but was thicker than a traditional paint and required more reloading of the roller than usual. It dries fast and I was able to get all 5 coats painted on within a 24 hour period. It really is a primer and not meant to be the final finish. It gets marked up easily and has a dull finish. I painted over it with regular wall paint and the final result is perfect ! Works exactly like I wanted and all my magnets stick to it except for a few. It's expensive but in the end worth it to me to create something fun and unique in my home!

Be sure to have a strong stirring rod to adjust and mix the coherence of the paint
prepare customers for a careful prepping and spreading of the paint as well the removal of remained globules of paint that have to be sanded down afterwards

Expensive, tedious, and still doesn’t work!
I followed the instructions to the letter and used the full quart on a slightly less than 36 sq ft area. Even my strongest neodymium magnets wouldn’t stay up, let alone hold anything else up. It ended up being 6 coats, and it was worthless. I ended up picking up a qt of the rust oleum brand from Menards for less than half the price, and two coats later, voila! Everything sticks. Even weaker magnets, and even after two coats of heavy duty furniture paint. 0/10 do NOT recommend this product.

You need LOTS of coats, then maybe
We put on 4 coats and still a strong refrigerator magnet (easily holds multiple papers on the frig) wouldn't stay when held vertically. Maybe we didn't mix it well enough or something but we gave up after 4 coats. A very strong neodymium magnet would stay but nothing else.

Don’t buy the premium grade
The media could not be loaded. I wanted a smooth surface so splurged on the premium grade of magnetize it. The $60 pint is supposed to have smaller iron particles giving you a smoother finish than the $20 regular grade. I suspect that the premium grade has less iron overall as I used most of the can on one cabinet door when 5 coats didn’t really work. From the other reviews, if you’re ok with putting 5 or 6 coats of the regular grade, you should get enough iron to attract a magnet. The premium grade takes about 20 coats.

Great for kids room
Painted my sons wall with it, I did 3 coats as instructed and works great! He uses these little magnetic cars we got and the wall is covered with them! Didn’t think we would be able to paint over it with the light blue we had also picked out because the magnetic paint is so dark but it came out fine

Arrived as a Dried Out Blob
I really love this concept and I was so excited about it, so I opened it up as soon as it arrived. But I opened it to find that it was just a dried out solid blob of paint inside. I couldn’t stir it at all. I tried getting help from Amazon and they said I need to reach out to Magnetize-It. I tried to and I’m getting no response from them. So I’m really disappointed. This was expensive for a tin of dried up paint.
