Perfect address labels ...
I use these labels on envelopes and packages and they work fine, just like the other well-known product that costs more. I have a Brother DCP laser printer and even though these labels say they are for inkjet printers, they worked fine in my printer. I was able to print them out (one sheet at a time through the manual feed is the only option for printing labels on my printer)without them sticking, jamming the printer, or smudging the type. I found the comparable Avery product online and set up the labels using Win7 and Microsoft Word 2007. The end result was crisp, clean, professional looking labels that stuck to the envelopes and packages I used them on without incident. I would highly recommend 3M brand labels to anyone who needs good, reliable, professional looking labels on your mailing/shipping items.

Ordered 3000 pack of 3100-B but received inferior 3100-A
I have been ordering via Amazon the 3000 pack the excellent 3M labels (1 x 2.62") I have always received the series 3100-B labels. BUT this time I ordered the "B" and got the 3100-A type.I am not sure what the issue is with the "A" but the label paper is thinner and very difficult to remove from the label's backing.... I have a few of the 3100-B type labels and they have thicker labels and come off the backing very easy.I was very specific with the order by insuring that I was ordering EXACTLY what I ordered in the past. The AMAZON description SAID (3100-B) but I did not receive these.

Not "permanent"
The adhesive on this is the same as any normal mailing label. I think it's false advertising to be marketing these as "Permanent". We wanted to use these to stick bar codes to plastic bags, but they easily peel off on their own. We found an alternative label with a better adhesive on Amazon that works much better.

I used the Avery labels for years but they were prone to peeling off lately. These stay put and work on the same templates.

They say it is permanent adhesive but when I try to use these on plastic bags they peal off just like the other ones on the internet do. The adhesive is no better than the cheaper versions of the is label.For sticking on paper im sure it works good but plastic bags or plastic the adhesive is very week.
