worth reading
Many laughs. Much cleverness. You’ll love the puns. Read it to recover from difficult situations. Darn. Four more words required.

Got this for my dad because... well, dad jokes.
If your father's sense of humor is a complete train wreck, from the circuitous way he tells them to the overall subject matter, this book is for YOU more than him. So give this to him as a gift and you will save everyone around him the pain and horror of jokes that could be summarized in just a few sentences. Perhaps after he understands a properly-crafted joke- right down to the timing and cadence- you'll turn him into the life of the party. Now, if you're a Dad, just close your eyes and imagine commanding the love and respect by a roomful of sexy ladies. Now imagine the conversation you'll have with your wife after you've made all those ladies think your more fun to live with than you actually are. Finally, realize that this is less for that sort of thing and more for making your wife smile and roll her eyes at you. If that's the most you can hope for at this point in your marriage, this is the way to go. Buy this book before she hands you divorce papers and runs off with the pool boy. Speaking of which, you might want to update your swim trunks at some point.

one liners
Most of the jokes are truly one-liners. There are some good ones and there are some lame ones. If you love one-liners, you'll like some in this book.

Book was written in the United Kingdom, many jokes are pertinent only to English humor.
You will need to know British slang to understand many of these jokes , most of which come from English stage comedians. I visited England in the 1970's as part of my military service ( stationed in a NATO base) and I heard a bunch of these from Brits but I don't think most of these are modern by any means. I wouldn't buy it for anyone modern.

One of the best joke books I own
I have a lot joke books. Like ten or so. I read them every night for about 15 minutes before I go to bed. This is one of the best in terms of actual laughs per joke. About 15% of the jokes are all the old standards (which are no longer funny but have to be included), about 20% are not that funny or too mean or nasty for my tastes, about 2% rely on british-isms, which you mostly won't understand unless you grew up there. BUT the rest are relatively new and funny. At 48% that's a very good percentage for a joke book.

My father is torturing me
My father is torturing me. Against my better judgment I bought this book for my father who has spent most of my life telling these awful jokes. He’s not much of a reader but I knew he would read this book and enjoy it. Unfortunately, I was hoping he would torture other people with a jokes. Instead, he’s calling me intermittently throughout the day to read these horrible jokes to me. I knew I made a horrible mistake when I bought it.

Not Even Funny
I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my teenage son. I sifted through the book when I got it to check things out and this book was shockingly offensive. The majority of these “jokes” were disturbing. “I had a tough time at school. The other kids used to push me around and call me lazy. I loved the wheelchair” “OK I’ve had it with cold turkey now! I’m getting back on the heroin” ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME?! I set up a return and Amazon doesn’t even want this garbage back, they just gave my money back. It doesn’t deserve any stars but Amazon made me pick one.

Good compilation
Okay, I admit it. I laughed. And laughed. I love one-liners, and some of them were punny as well. A few went over my head because I'm not British and wasn't familiar with the terminology. As Her Royal Highness Victoria Regina would have said, "We are amused."
