Great, easy to read, and accurate.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:So far this is keeping the temperature for me, letting me know by beeping when something is done. I use this for meat, yogurt making, etc. It's pretty sturdy and has the temperature suggestions for all types of meat on it. It's sturdy and should hold up as well as the others I've used by the same mfg company. Easy to read the screen. Accuracy seems great. Love the magnet--hang it up by the stove and don't need to store in a drawer. All metal, just be careful when taking it out of the oven because it's HOT (I found out the hard way).

Precision Cooking Made Simple with Large LCD Display
I've gone through several meat thermometers over the years, but the ThermoPro TP16 has quickly become my absolute favorite. This digital cooking food meat thermometer is a game-changer for anyone serious about cooking, whether you're grilling, smoking, or using your oven.First off, the large LCD screen is a standout feature. It's incredibly easy to read from a distance, which is perfect when you're juggling multiple dishes or just want to check on your meal without opening the smoker or oven too often. The clarity of the display, even in low light, ensures you never miss the exact temperature of your food. The accuracy of this thermometer is spot-on. It comes with USDA preset temperature settings for various meats, which is a huge help for those new to cooking or anyone who wants to ensure their meat is cooked to the recommended level. You can also customize these settings to match your taste preferences, which I've found very useful for achieving the perfect doneness. The build quality is impressive too. The stainless steel probe is durable and can withstand high temperatures, which is crucial when you're dealing with the heat of a smoker or grill. The probe itself is long enough to reach the center of thick cuts of meat without having to guess if it's in the right spot. The inclusion of a timer function is another thoughtful addition. It's great for not only monitoring meat temperatures but also for timing side dishes or ensuring your meal is ready all at once. The alarm feature alerts you when your food reaches the set temperature, which means no more overcooked meals. What's more, this thermometer is incredibly user-friendly. The magnetic back allows for easy storage on your fridge or grill, and the design is compact enough to not take up much space. It's also versatile, working well for both indoor and outdoor cooking scenarios. In conclusion, the ThermoPro TP16 has made cooking more precise and enjoyable. It's reliable, easy to use, and has genuinely enhanced my cooking results. If you're looking to take your culinary skills to the next level, this is the thermometer for you.

Works perfectly
I have had multiple thermometers in my 60 years of cooking. I have tried the wireless, app driven ones. I find the apps attached to them a primary detriment (notably staying connected). The one thing I do like is that many of the apps predict the time to the set temperature. I had a wired version that provided this particular predictive timing function. It died after a couple of years of service. I wanted another, but they are hard to find, even on Amazon. My second one died. Now I cannot find this type of predictive wired probe thermometer. Back to a wireless probe with an app? Oh well. And “no”.I ended up getting this ThermoPro wired version. It is simple. No predictive function. Still, I like it. It does exactly what it is supposed to, provide an accurate temperature inside an item while it cooks. I used it on New Years Eve with a roast. The roast came out exactly as I wanted it – medium rare. The price is great. The durability seems standard. The display is easy to read. Operation is easy to understand. (Be sure to unwrap the battery!). The probe wire is long enough so the main display can sit on the counter next to the oven (or grill). Recommended!

Nice but not moisture proof
Excellant. Easy to read and program but like my Thermopro timers do not use them around moisture. For some reason Thermopro does not seal the thermometer or timers from moisture getting in and fading out the display. I was cooking Country ribs in my Crockpot and it failed to display right when I needed it.Works great otherwise.
