Mylar Vacuum Seal 8"x16' or 11"x16' Rolls | SteelPak Textured/Embossed Aluminum Foil Vacuum/Heat Seal Rolls to Create Custom-Sized Vacuum Sealer Bags (2, 8"x16')

I am using this mylar bag roll with a Nesco VS-12 vacuum sealer. The bags vacuum and seal as advertised (unlike some products.) The vacuum is as strong as any plastic bags I've used. The bags are a little thicker than the plastic bags so I have my sealer on 'double' seal and I double seal that meaning once it's done sealing I just hit the manual seal button again without moving the bag around to make sure it's sealed well. I also the bag a little manually seal it again for extra assurance. So far, they've held for 48 hours. It is unknown if there will be any long term issues with the seals.

So far, these mylar vacuum bags seem to work well. I'm not using for food storage, but for storing FDM 3D printer filament. The mylar should block oxygen and moisture far better than the standard plastic food saver bags. They pulled a vacuum well and no punctures or other issues so far in the 20 bags I've made/used. Other commenters indicate that the square pattern rolls are not that great, so I'm glad to report I received the diamond pattern rolls and they seem to be high quality material and seal together just a good as regular plastic vacuum storage bags. Hopefully I can extend my filament storage time quite a bit before needing to dehydrate the stored filament before use. Would recommends.

I have purchased these rolls at least four or five times. I use them to separate "family pack" purchases into smaller quantities for freezer storage. These bags are much better than the clear bags that come with the name-brand vacuum sealers.I use a 12 inch impulse sealer to make the first seal on these bags. I double seal this first side with a second operation from the 12 inch impulse sealer. I then use my namebrand vacuum sealer to evacuate the air from the bag and make a seal. I then use the impulse sealer two more times to fully seal the bag. I have had no bags leak air using this method, and frozen meats will last a very long time in the freezer without any sign of freezer burn or other deterioration.My only complaint, and the reason for the loss of one star, is that these bags tend to get creases in various places in the bags. When placing in the vacuum sealer, one must be very careful to flatten these creases as they are sometimes large enough to prevent proper air evacuation. Having done several with creases, one will get better at getting a good seal the first attempt, but these creases are sometimes so bad that your initial cut has to be relocated. Even so, I will continue to purchase these bag rolls for the savings I get with their use.

The film is thicker than the average vacuum sealing films and is wrinkle free throughout the entire roll.The only bad thing about it is the price.Note: I got the film with diamond shapes rather than squares.

Contrary to other reviewers I recieved rolls with exact same pattern as the SteelPak mylar bags. The vacuum is still holding after two months. I'm using an ordinary household vacuum sealer (KitchenBoss G200). I really appreciate I can save money by using just enough bag material as I need.

I had read many of the reviews here before I took the chance and tried them but after using them I am really impressed with them. I use them with my food savor vacuum sealer and had great results. I have used two rolls of my order thus far and have not had a leaker yet. They have sealed great and I will be buying more in the future. I am a hiker and freeze dry my meals then vacuum seal them with the food savor standard clear plastic but have to always go back and check them for leakers to re-bag and vacuum seal the ones I always find to have leaked air into the bag. But that has not been the case with this product as I have not had a leaker yet. The Mylar material seams to hold up very well and looks to be of good quality. I will buy again.

Really wanted this to work, but wouldn't hold a seal. Vacuum worked with my Black n Decker FreshGuard. But within 5 minutes the bag was letting air in and loosing the nice crinkled look. I tried sealing the edges immediately after with my Harvest Right sealer and also with an iron on the highest setting, but the somehow air was getting in. I'll keep searching and hope to find someway vacuum sealer a Mylar bag without buying an expensive Chamber Vacuum machine. Thickness did seem to be OK, others said too thin. That didn't seem to be a problem.

These are perfect. You cut only what you need and I haven't had a problem with them staying sealed.
