I replaced my old failing front door set with this. It's good-looking (beauty being the eye of the beholder and all that), was easy to install AND re-key! I wasn't expecting that feature to be so easy to do, and really appreciate that part of the design. But, it's just not as stalwart or heavy as I'd hoped. The door levers have some unwanted "play" when pressing down or lifting up to open the door. They'll probably snap off some day, but for the money? Works for now. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

These two lock sets were purchased to replace lock sets that were not smart locks. Having same key for entire home is what drove this purchase!!

We have ordered several of these locks. They are easy to install, re-key and solid. I would buy more if I had a need. I have told family members and friends about them when they move into a new house or apartment. Absolutely love these.

Pretty, the locking mechanism is a little loose. Works ok

We bought a new house and wanted to change all the locks—we have FIVE exterior doors (all with deadbolts) and wanted the convenience of using ONE single key for all of them without calling a locksmith. We also wanted to change out old brass locks/knobs/levers with a more modern look. This was the PERFECT solution. First, I purchased an inexpensive but good quality set of 4 locking knobs with 4 deadbolts on Amazon—all keyed the same with a key compatible with Kwikset. I used those on the basement, balcony, and garage doors (with one extra left over). Then, I purchased a Smartkey handle-set with matching deadbolt for the front door and keyed that to match the 4 set combo. Then, I purchased this Smartkey set for the patio french door and also keyed that to match the 4 set combo and the front door. YAY! All doors in the entire house use ONE single key. The price for this deadbolt entry lever set on Amazon was an unbelievable $17 LESS EXPENSIVE than in our local big-box DIY store. It was very easy to install this, and very easy to key it. I simply followed the instructions in the package. It also works exactly the same as the Smartkey handle-set on our front door. Remember to keep the Smartkey pin in case you need to ever re-key the lock again. I think that that feature is VERY handy in case you ever feel a need to change your locks. I already had another of these combo deadbolt/locking lever on my home, so when I needed to replace the ones on my garage, I went with the same model for a unified look.My previous install didn't need the lever or lock cylinder switched around so I hadn't needed to do that before. On this install though, I had to swap the levers to get the correct one on the outside. It's super simple to do with the included Allen wrench, remove both handles, and just use on the other side. Easy.But then it was bothering me that the cylinder for the key was "upside down". I know this is a matter of preference for some, but considering that the deadbolt cylinder is what I consider correct, with the teeth of the key pointing up when you insert it, and now the lever cylinder was the other way, I had to figure out how to flip it.There are instructions online for flipping it for Kwikset knobs, but make sure to ignore those! The instructions for a lever handset is totally different and, as it turns out, super easy to do.You simply remove the outside handle (use the Allen wrench - reminder, you can only do this when the lever is unlocked; if it's locked, it blocks the wrench from being inserted to reach the set screw). There's a C clip holding the cylinder in place which you can easily pop off with a small screwdriver. Then you simply remove the cylinder, rotate 180 degrees, re-insert, and push the C clip back in place. Re-attach the lever and you're done.That's so much easier than the process on a knob which involves taking the lever out entirely, removing the locking spindle, inserting a couple of screwdrivers to de-tension some spring clips, etc. With the lever you can do it all with the lever installed on the door. Which, of course, I didn't realize until after I'd removed it and tried the "knob" method. :)
