Really like how versatile it is!
I'm gonna start off by saying I really love how versatile this is. It's called a 8 tier shoe rack in the description & that's what I had all intentions on using it for when I purchased it. As you can see in my picture I decided to use it for my plants instead. It could also be used as a bookshelf or to display anything on. After I put it together I thought this is to nice to put my shoes on but I probably will put my shoes on it in the Summer time when all my plants are outside. It was easy to put together & the directions actually made sense. It did come with 8 shelves but I took 2 of mine back out to accommodate my plants. I can always put the 2 that I took out back in if I want to use it for my shoes. I was kinda surprised by the height of it, which was a good surprise because the taller the better. That just means that you can fit more stuff on it. I recommend this to anybody because I'm sure that everybody can think of at least one thing that they could use it for.

Great for big feet and small spaces
This works perfect for us! It’s great for tight spaces and big shoes. My husband wears a 14 and me and my daughters wear size 10. Our shoes fit fine! Pay attention to how the pieces go together though. I assembled it and afterwards realized the holes for the hook were on the wrong side.

This is not the best "Bang for your Bucks" deal
First let me say, I've been doing wood working for over 50 years. The following is not a political statement of any kind, and is based on my own experiences in life, both personal and professional. So here goes:This thing is not worth $65.00.It isn't worth 50, 40, 30, or even $20.00. Well, Maybe $20.00.The so called wooden shelves are from some sort of Bamboo that is lighter than the balsa wood used to make RC airplanes. What that means is you may as well make the shelves out of cheap shipping styrofoam. Now, that statement may be a bit inflammatory, but not much. They used bamboo because it is the cheapest thing they could to keep costs down, and still make the product look good in photo's for advertising, and to make is weigh less - to save money for the cost of shipping it all the way across the great pond . . . from China. The workmanship on the wood is poor at best. There are chunks of wooden debris stuck to the so called "finish" and surface of the shelves. There are dimples in the shelves so you start the screws to fasten them in place into the framework. Good idea, right? Well it would be a good idea if they were actually substantial enough so you could find it with the screw once you insert the screw into the frame. They would be even better if the dimples were in the center of the edge of each shelf. Most people who have worked with wood, or even balsa, know the strength come from the direction of the grain of the wood. Whoever designed these, designed it with the grain going the wrong direction. What that means is, if you leave a pair of shoes on the shelf, expect it to warp from the weight of the shoes. If they are just lacy slip-ons for women, it may be okay. Men's shoes? Not so much. The metal frame work. It is very light gauge metal, which I would expect from any product of China. They strive at keeping shipping costs down and they are very good at it. I don't really have a problem with the frame work, except that you have to assemble 3 pieces to make each upright frame. What you end up with is several silver fasteners that detract from the appearance. Again, they made it 3 pieces instead of one to make a shorter package for shipping costs reduction. It is just another example of this unit not standing up to the cost and value of the product, as compared the the price being charged for it.I usually feel most products are priced at the amount one should expect to pay. This one however, is based on you looking at photo's and making a purchase decision based solely on photo's. IF this unit was priced correctly, I would have said, "I got exactly what I paid for". This review would have been completely different.I hope this helps others make a decision. Buyer beware.

Not too hard to assemble but did not hold up
We bought this for our apartment to keep our shoes in. The shelving broke pretty soon after we assembled this item and it was not fixable. Definitely be mindful of how much weight you are putting on a shelf as they do not hold a lot of weight

Unfinished wood, but decent quality
I was surprised the wood came unfinished. I love the shelf, and once assembled it's sturdy. Assembly wasn't difficult, but it took some patience. Directions could be a little more clear. I took about a week extra to seal each board with a couple coats of spray on polyurethane before assembling.

Instructions and Quality are Subpar
Honestly, where do I begin... The wood is okay quality. It's interesting because some parts of it look burnt (as opposed to a type of stain). The instructions were okay. I honestly thought that metal grate piece that goes on top was bent incorrectly during manufacturing since the holes didn't line up. When taking a closer look at the instructions, it said there were no predrilled holes for it. I thought they were supposed to line up with the countersunk ones, but that's on me. The metal piece screwed into the wood fine. The long metal pieces that fit together are okay. Until you attach the other wood (on top or bottom) it's bowed, so that made it a little difficult for a one person installation. The instructions also aren't clear on whether you're supposed to install the metal pieces on a certain orientation (i.e. have the small indents on the outside or inside). So when I went to screw in hooks not only were the holes for the hooks on the inside, the entire thing was upside down. And since I had all the tiers screwed in at certain heights. I ended up just placing the hooks on a screw that I had already attached to the wooden layer. It was much more efficient than taking the whole thing apart and re-screwing everything. The hooks work great and can hold my umbrella and keychains. I ended up not using one wooden layer because my boots are too tall to include one more. And they're not very tall. Maybe 6" in height from heel to top. This shoe rack legitimately frustrated me. I've installed many things with proper instructions, but this was not one of them. I'd recommend getting something else. I just liked the metal and wood aesthetic since it went well with my furniture and apartment features. The height of it also works well for me. This product is extremely subjective, so do what is best for you. But it's probably best to go to a store and buy a shoe rack already put together. With COVID, I just didn't want to go out.
