Beautiful and functional cold brew coffee maker
*Updated 7/2022 - After using this cold brew coffee maker for about a year now, I still love it.I use it, if not every day, a few times a week. It is still easy to use and clean. The quality is great. It has been an extra hot summer in Texas this year and we have been drinking way more iced coffee than hot brewed. I make a full batch of iced coffee and then store it in a glass bottle in the fridge (an old milk bottle) and then when I am almost out, I make sure to put a batch in the fridge the night before and then it is ready to go the next day. Don't forget to save your grounds for the garden. If you are looking for an iced coffee maker that is easy to use and of good quality, just go ahead and get this one. You won't regret it. And side note - you don't even have to refrigerate the coffee. You could easily leave it on the counter or set it out in the sun. Lots of options. As long as I never break the glass, I'll be using this one for years to come.. . . .Original reviewI'm really loving this cold coffee maker. It's actually really beautiful, sleek and shiny. Made from stainless steel and glass. It is easy to disassemble for cleanup. Most pieces can be washed in the dishwasher. A few pieces must be washed by hand.I like that the beaker comes out of its base and you can use it to make other things as well. I always appreciate a multi-functional product. The coffee is smoother and more gentle on the stomach. It's nice to have iced coffee in addition to brewed coffee. And if you are a camper or outdoorsy person, then you will enjoy the portability of this. Just protect the glass. Great little cold brew coffee maker. A nice alternative. It came with a nice laminated instruction booklet as well.

9 Month Review :)
I have had this Cafe Du Chateau Cold Brew Coffee Maker for 9 months now and thought I’d update my review. I do a bit of “window shopping” on amazon from time to time and over the last couple days I have looked at a few cold brew makers and I have to say that this one has my vote. It is well designed with rubber gaskets both on the filter and the lid keeping the coffee fresh and any orders out as it brews in the fridge. I have found that pouring my beans into the filter and then into grinding that it’s the perfect amount for the 34oz carafe (for me at least). The glass is easily taken out of the metal housing for cleaning but is snug enough to only move when is taking it out. The filter is tops! I have, on occasion made my beans fine when grinding (course ground is recommended) because I haven’t purchased a bur grinder yet (still looking) but I have never had any grounds in my coffee. It is very easy to use and makes great coffee. Easy to clean and well built. If you’re looking for a cold brew coffee maker this is the one to get :)

I love cold brew...
This is not a compensated review so no professional staged photos with cutesy props - just my dining room.I love cold brew. I have been using the Asobu for over a year but it has developed some problems. After much researching I purchased the Cafe du Chateau, though I had some concerns. Thank you to all the honest reviewers.- Sharp edges; this is addressed in the "bonus" manual. I ran my finger around all edges and I found 1 rough edge on the lower handle bracket. I took a file to it and it's fine but this really should be addressed in the production and not by simply sticking a label on the box.- Cleanliness; YES it comes apart. To avoid moisture and bacteria between the glass and the metal follow the instructions. I found that steady pressure applied to the bottom with one hand and the carafe with the other a little at a time worked fine. Pull some, turn it, Pull again, turn it, etc. Put it FIRMLY back into the holder after cleaning. Also DO remove the seals and wash separately. Moisture collects there too.On the Plus side:- It's a lifetime warranty; of course send it back for safety reasons, breakage, etc.- Stainless filter - I purchase ground dark roast so I don't grind my own. I am not concerned with residue on the bottom after it brews for 16 hours because I pour it off into a stainless insulated tumbler and sip at my leisure. It stays cold for hours. I don't need a paper filter.- Glass carafe; Plastic stains and scratches after a while. The glass is far easier to clean and the graduated measurement is quite helpful while pouring the water in.- Design; It's rugged and stylish. I like the lines and the combination of stainless and glass. It fits well into my refrigerator so that I can brew it cold without having to add ice and end up with diluted brew. My previous unit was designed for counter top brewing to which you add ice into the carafe.- Ease; I measure out 12 tablespoons, pour the water in slowly with half the grounds, then repeat that and place it in the fridge. Timing, quantity, density, grind, etc, are part of discovering your perfect brew. This brewer unit makes that possible. All that said, it gets only 4 stars since the manufacturer considers the instruction booklet as a "Bonus".I consider it necessary, especially with regard to safety. It needs to be much more clearly printed.
