These battery operated candles came securely packaged in a box, and the minute I put the batteries in every single candle lit up. I bought these to put in my fireplace that we never use for fires. I placed them in the fireplace, then used one of the remotes to turn them on. All candles came on right away, and also turned off with one push on the remote. There are options for timers of 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. I tested the 2 hour timer and it worked perfectly. I used all the candles in one place, but two remotes come with the candles so you can use them in different rooms. The candles illuminate very well, and the moving "flame" makes them look real. I also loved that they came in different sizes and are extremely affordable. I highly recommend these candles.

So these have many features I like. Candles with timer and remote are all I'll buy now. These adjust to 2 or 4 hours - way more realistic than some that stay on longer. I'm using them in windows in place of traditional Xmas candles. I'm done with running wires and dealing with plugs. They are attractive and I like the variety of sizes. Price is good. What I didn't see mentioned is that they make a noise. In place of a plastic bulb that flickers, these have a flame shaped piece of plastic that moves and makes a noise. I could live without the noise. If they're in another room I don't care, but I won't put them too near.

Perfect for any holidays that are made beautiful through candlelight. They are amazingly real looking as they flicker and reflect off the ceiling like any real flame would do.Remotes work, they each require 2 double A batteries. That’s good because one has been lit straight for over 4 days and counting.No flame worries with the look of real candles! Amazing.I ordered another box for my sister’s Christmas party. I know she’ll be thrilled with them…I am.

I have a ridiculous amount of fun powering these on and off from across the room, the remote is just a magic wand. I only set them to 2hrs at a time, still waiting to see how long it takes for the batteries to wear out. Up close the flame looks ridiculous but it's a pretty convincing flicker effect and they make pretty dancing lights on the ceiling. I'm getting more.

The reason for the 4/5 is that I received seemingly two different types (or manufacture batch?) when even though I ordered two at once.One box was plain, the candles weren’t bubble wrapped, the remotes were. The candles were slightly more yellow/warm.The other box said something like “flame less candle”, opened from the top (not the short side like the first) and were bubble wrapped individually. They are also slightly more white than the rest.They all function seemingly so I’m going to keep them and I was able to mix the colors in so it’s not as noticeable.Otherwise, first light and remote function works.I will say, the fact that the set wasn’t wrapped (and if functions) makes me think maybe they can survive a toddler?We shall see.

these look really really nice when turned on... almost real. they're very lightweight and feel kinda cheap, but once on they flicker like a real flame. I made centerpieces for a church Christmas party and after i let the church keep the centerpiece, minus the candle. I liked them so much I wanted them back.

I love these candles. I have them in 2 fireplaces. Photos added. They are so cozy and realistic! Not too pricy.
