I used the prior version of this product and was very happy with it. However, my dog also liked it and chewed it to pieces and I needed a replacement. This is the new version and it’s a little different, and when I tried it I couldn’t get suction. I tried contacting the manufacturer, but they never answered my request. I wondered if I was doing something wrong. But I decided to try again, returned my nonfunctional item and requested a replacement. This one works perfectly, and better than the old one, so I recommend it. The replacement process was very quick and easy.

I’ll start by saying I have a very busy job that requires me to walk and multitask all the time so I can’t just use regular gourds while at work.Auto mate is the solution for getting your daily dose of mate with a busy lifestyle. This is a very neat and sturdy system that allows you to have mate any time even while driving since it fits in standard cup holders.It keeps the water temperature all day, so you just have to put the right temperature you’d like from the start. I prepare mine in the morning and drink it after lunch throughout the day with no problem!The taste is amazing and I actually use less yerba than with a regular gourd because I don’t have to refill it.Easy to understand and clean. The external material looks nice and modern because of its matte texture. I totally recommend this to busy people! The newer model is totally different from the old one, so don’t worry about the bad reviews. Great value!This company has amazing customer service, I had an inconvenient and they solved immediately with the best attitude! They treat their customers with care. Totally recommend!

I love the concept but it is not practical and can be dangerous. I am lucky I tried to use it at home first before setting out to do a 24 hour road trip across the US. I was looking forward to taking it on the road as brewing mate in a car can prove to be messy, and when exposed can look like another type of herb, considering I am traveling through the South, and to an unknowing eye, it can look like I am transporting weed....not trying to go to jail because a cop thinks I am riding around with Marijuana... having that said I loved the “idea” of the Yerba being contained and not exposed... I read reviews before receiving it and I should have trusted the majority of customers that in fact deemed this product faulty. I could have burned myself with the hot water in my car, the minimum would be blisters between my legs and wet crotch/pants before getting to the next rest stop which could mean hours... the worst is said accident provoking a distraction and causing destruction on the highway; I am trying to think positively and not be a chronic pessimist, but it leaves me no choice to be so... to start there is no owners manual with tips as to how to proportion the water and the Yerba, leaving one to spill Yerba and hot water, again, tracers of dry Yerba in a car to a cop trying to be a hero and stop a drug bust is the best excuse to at least land you a night in jail in a neighboring state, and I’m not trying to spend my Thanksgiving in a jail in Georgia or Tennessee before they can test and prove that its Yerba mate and not something else... I have purchased a variety of products from Bali stove, from the glass and leather mate, to the container, and the container to separate the dust from the yerba as well as the thermo, all products have proven to be great quality and practical, yet this one seems as if it was a prototype that was just approved to be sold and was never really tested before being put on the market... I am displeased to leave such a review but I think it’s fair that if you market a concept, the product should deliver excellence and unfortunately it is not so for this.

Well, I'm giving 5 stars but I have one possible problem. I had for years a similar design brand Rolan that I use it but it had some problems. This one is better but worse than the Roland in one aspect, let me explain.This one stays hotter for longer time than the other and also I reduce the water from 76 C degrees to 71 C degrees to start.The Rolan had a very flimsy plastic filter that bends get loose and broke so I had to put Cheese cloth to continue using it, this one is very firm and looks it gonna last.The problem? most of the time water is not coming and I have to move the mouthpiece till I got the seal so it can work. That started to happen after 2 years with the Rolan till it didn't work anymore. I think its possible that this one dies way sooner. There's a o-ring that start to deteriorate and I can't find one to replace it so everything to the trash for a o-ring that maybe cost cents. If this die sooner I'm gonna change the review but who knows maybe last a lot and love it if it works.

perfect for drinking mate, kept the water nice and hot and is perfect for driving around since its slim enough to fit in most cupholders in your car and keeps hot during cold winter months. (we live in an area where it gets to -30F and lots of snow) mate goes in the very top part of the canteen and doesn't affect the water until you start sipping. the water distributes nicely into the mate and lasted fairly well. it doesn't leak from the straw or canteen itself unless you hold it upside down obviously, but overall good size bottle for water and mate proportions.

I'm very happy with this product; it's exactly what I was looking for. I believe many of the negative reviews are about the older version, which did have its issues. However, this updated version works great. The quality of the thermos is excellent, and it performs just as expected.
