Bonsaii 8 Sheet Strip Cut Paper Shredder S120-C Bin without openings

My Bonsaii 8 Sheet Strip Cut Paper Shredder (S120-C) arrived on time, was well packed and exactly as described. This model (S120-C ) is the VFM 'starter' unit in the Bonsaii range of shredders. It has a 12 x month guarantee although this can be extended to 18 x months by registering the unit on the Bonsaii website.The specification states it has the ability to cut 8 x sheets of paper at one time although I'm not sure why the home user would want to. The manufacturer states "shreds paper into tiny particles measuring 6mm" which actually means the strips are about 6mm wide for a sheet of A4 paper. The manufacturer claims it "shreds your documents into unreadable pieces" which is a rather ambitious claim. However, it is capable of chopping up paper containing staples and has an additional facility for slicing up credit cards and CDs.To date I have only used it for trial purposes to check that everything worked ... it does.The real challenges any shredder faces will be jamming and/or overheating when used extensively.There is an overheat indicator light on the S-120C with cut-out although my initial usage has not provoked this problem. I'll update this review if I do have problems in the longer term.My old (very cheap & nasty) shredder bought from a certain discount supermarket suffered a lot from jamming with even minimal paper feed. I've not had a problem with the S120-C, and am intrigued by a sticker on the top of the unit that gives me a contact number and tells me to phone a Bonsaii Engineer if I need help & advice.I could have bought a shredder that cuts the paper into thinner strips, or a unit that literally chops paper into confetti-like pieces. However, the price of shredders of this capability quickly rises from under £50 to hundreds of pounds.This unit meets my needs and offers good VFM.BTW: Please remember that the shredder has a trip switch and only works when placed correctly in the collection bin. I once put it in the wrong way and when the blue light failed to come on I thought it was broken! I changed the plug, checked the wires and waited for it to cool. I then read the 'Troubleshooting Tips' and discovered that I needed to put the shredder in the right way to activate the trip switch DOH!RECOMMENDED for the Home Office User.

It was probably too cheap to be any use so I should have known better. Previous reviews are varied but I can only assume that those who thought that the unit is ok were shredding very small items. I bought it for home use and over a period of 3 months the performance deteriorated; it would really only take a page at a time and even then it bunched up under the blades causing frequent jams with the need to have to remove the shredding unit and pull the shreds out. Be aware that the blades do not stop when the shredding unit is taken out of the bin. That said, I’ve no reason to say that it was otherwise unsafe. I’ve now returned the unit and the Amazon Customer Service was excellent in helping me do so.

The only thing I didn’t like was when the machine was on the on button light was very bright. Had to keep it switched off until needed. (I use it a lot) No other complains as it shredded really well and was easy to clear when I put too much paper in.

Terrible product. Worst shredder i ever had. The manufacturer used too much lubricant for the blades, it is a sticky paste, and it caused the paper to jam. After a lot of frustration, the excess lubricant rubbed off, but then came the constant overheating, paper jams, and overall poor quality. It is not a cross cut model, so it just cuts long strips. In hindsight, i should gave checked that it was cross cut. Better off spending an extra tenner and buying a decent one.

I've had this for a year now and am *this* close to condeming it to The Great Recycling Centere in the Sky and sourcing a replacement (I'll get a cross-cut next time).My advice would be: NEVER put more than 3 sheets in at time, and make certain you're put them straight as, if you don't, they'll get wedged against the sides and the motor isn't strong enough to pull them through.If you're happy with that then go ahead and purchase – although I see Amazon say it's no longer available (there's a reason for that :-) )

Easy to use, doesn’t jam and precisely cuts everything small.

The media could not be loaded.  This shredder is very good value for money. In other reviews it does say that it looks like the shredder has been used, I read the booklet that came with the shredder, it does state that there may be paper on the bottom (in my case paper dust), due to the fact they test each one, maybe this is why other customers have had this problem.I would recommend for house hold or occasional use. Maybe buy a more expensive one if your going to be using it on a regular basis.

J'ai voulu l'utiliser avec 8 feuilles comme c'est indiqué mais cela ne passe pas et le papier reste coincé dans l'appareil, ce qui est pénible à défaire.Mais fonctionne parfaitement pour les cd, et feuilles mais max 5 feuilles à la fois.

Se atasca continuamente Lo malo es que se me pasó el tiempo para su devolución. ¿Se me admitiría su devolución teniendo en cuenta la fecha de compra? Un saludo.

Also, es funktioniert ok. Hab das ungefähr seit einem Jahr. Ich weiß nicht, wie teuer vergleichsweise andere Aktenvernichter sind, aber für knapp 50€ verstopfen die Klingen recht fix.Es zerschneidet nicht super clean, aber ausreichend
